Heres the problem that we're having. Fulmer does not want to make a coaching change. He's dead set on bringing back Pruitt next year. Several boosters are willing to pay up for a new coach, and Fulmer is the lone voice in the room trying to convince them to wait on Pruitt. We have been inquiring and reaching out quietly to see which coaches would be interested, that's why I said get the flight trackers ready because Its interesting to see who they talk to. Auburn struggling to find a coach helps Fulmer's cause as well.

Another interesting move is if Boyd decides to make move without Fulmer. Pruitt losing half his staff certainly doesn't bode well for him and I think Fulmer knows that. Gonna be an interesting couple of weeks.
I don’t care what Fulmer wants. He is killing our program. Fans will be checked out and he can enjoy his 50,000 fans at home games from his box collecting his high salary. Then once we go 5-7 and we are a complete dumpster fire, we will fire him and Pruitt. It’s unbelievable we would even consider bringing back the worst coach in the history of our program. This fanbase is done. This program is bigger than Fulmer and his ego.

Callahan just said on Ainge:
"Tennessee may not sign some of the guys that are committed, and they may sign some that are"

I hate football.

Yep - and piss on this Athletic Department for making me feel this way. This used to be something fun and exciting. And I tried and tried for the last 15 years....hoping, praying there would be a turnaround.

Now - I don't even care. I missed the first quarter of the game this past weekend because I forgot it was even on.

I'm not making a conscious decision to check out and say "I'm over it"....it just seems to be naturally happening at this point.

In other words. Hes back

Muscle memory.. Eventually we won't care that we don't care.... We'll be able to do it in our sleep.

Maybe but the fact that we're hearing about staff turnover and who will likely need replaced is very telling IMO.

If you were trying to control the narrative to pressure your opponents into accepting your position, wouldn't you use that type tactic as well? Fulmer has gone all in on the wrong hand. The question is whether anyone else at the table has the stones to call his bluff and break him.

The slow developing plays kill me. On Bailey’s sack fumble, you had a pulling guard coming out to pick up an edge rusher and the play-fake right in Bailey’s field of vision, and the play side routes were two deep post routes.

Everything about the design of that play was a disaster, and people are like “he should have gotten it out quicker.” If he had, there was nowhere to go (when he started to throw, they were just starting to break their routes), aside from chucking it out of bounds, which is what we probably would have done had we not been playing head games with him and Shrout playing “make a mistake and you get yanked” musical chairs with the QB. The only thinkg I can think happened was 1) one of those WRs ran the wrong route or 2) someone was supposed to drag across the middle and that didn’t happen.

Nevertheless, seems like a lot of f@#$$ing moving parts for a freshman who adjusting to the speed of the SEC, or even with Shrout that is struggling to make multiple reads because his development was stunted with JG siphoning up reps for 8 damned years it seems.
I think that’s my biggest issue with the play calling on both sides of the ball. Once things were obviously not working we continued to try to force the issue. There’s too much movement, too many guys signaling to their position group on D. There’s too much thinking going on and not enough playing. Just dumb it down and let the guys play fast. Ironically, this is what Schiano was doing at Ohio State and then he left, they dumbed it down and their defense improved drastically.

Sounds about right. The disdain for Fulmer only going to get worse if Pruitt is back next year.

Just another out of the woodworks guy with a ”source” you know the ones get real defensive after being called out? He‘s calling people idiots now and talking about PMing people just to prove how much he knows. Same ole stuff just like the last search.
Please do not get sucked into this stuff. We have a head coach under contract. It would be a coaching search if we didn't have a head coach. People just refuse to understand that. At least with Gruden there was an opening and this place went wild with the rumors.

@LA Vol has been saying this for weeks. TN will fire Pruitt if they can ensure an upgrade that justifies spending the money to fire Pruitt and hire the new guy. If the coaches that meet this criteria are receptive then that makes the decision easier. If they get the "thanks but no thanks" responses for their higher tier coaches, they'll wait until next year and try again.

Will get the same results then too. The definite upgrade that will say yes this year or next won't be considered.
