My main concern with Chadwell, is can he handle everything else? The next coach here is going to be under a microscope and expected to perform at a high level in the next 2 years. Is Chadwell ready for that? Can he handle the AD, boosters, the academic side, and us, the fans? That's a lot to put on a guy coming from Myrtle Beach.
Exactly.

Maybe Pruitt just makes some of us gun shy because of the way he is. But most guys handle that stuff fairly well. We really have no idea how he’d handle without seeing it real time.

@Ulysees E. McGill

Gus with Mason as his DC would be a solid hire IMO. I know you and the family are over Gus but what are your thoughts on that possible combo?
I wouldn't fuss too much with Mason at DC, but it still depends on the offense and Gus's handling of it. Gus's old offense is rotten garbage that has been figured out, and that has been his downfall...BUT...if he could hire a really good and innovative OC, then get out of the way and just be a program manager he might could actually stabilize the program..🤔

Look...if we were to hire him I will get behind him even though I doubt it will work...I am just expressing my extreme doubt in him now.

Who here wants to see shotgun on the one yard line anymore?

I just wanted to know a if you a couple of specifics that you could state off the top of your head. Nevermind, no big deal.
Gus's stagnant handling of the offense, his inability to recruit and develop OL, and inability to develop offensive players as a whole are the major reasons...and that is a major red flag since he is a offensive side HC. They know that defense has saved his bacon, and that was not why they hired him. They can call the offensive play he is going to run 90+% of the time...it was crazy. I have watched them do it for years now.

All basketball players are babies. It's a sport for whiners. Always has been and always will be
Don't be mad because you were always the first person eliminated in gotcha during P.E. They say the first way to overcome the past is to release the anger you still hold.

There are good hires out there, but no great ones that are realistic. Just because they are good hires in theory doesn't make them good fits here. Freeze is mentioned a lot here, I think he would be successful on the field but could be terrible for us in other ways that have been discussed before.

After that our realistic candidates are from the same pool as Pruitt was at the time. We've done little in building relationships in getting to know them. I suspect that changes this year.

I don't agree with the assessment of what's realistic. Freeze isn't the only coach who can produce on the field that's realistic for us. That's especially true if Fulmer is going to force an AD change as well. But until we fire Pruitt there's really no way to know which of us is correct.
