Because if the boosters who want him fired don't get their way, they're not going to pay up for a buyout for Chaney and/or Ansley.

If Fulmer (and other boosters) want to keep Pruitt, they're going to make them sweat through 2021.
I’m talking about from Pruitt’s stand point. You’re basically 50/50 getting fired this year and i would hope that if he’s back at the bare minimum he would have to go 7-5 with some damn close losses and good recruiting momentum to stick around for 2022..... is Chaney really the best option to get you there?

That is probably the craziest thing about this whole ordeal imo. Everyone on this board knows i was strongly against Chaney from day 1 but after this year and the fact the guy doesn’t even even recruit..... why in the world would you keep him? Even if we promoted within and gave anyone else a shot at OC and just brought in another person to recruit it would make more sense. Chaney is literally just taking up space at this point.

Freudian jokes?

I really don't think it's his choice anymore. Tony B reported yesterday that Pruitt has been told he can't even immediately replace Friend yet.

He's proven to have poor judgement about coordinator and assistant hires. You can't let him spend more money if you keep him. Make him figure it out.

What do you think of Ansley as a developer of the defensive game plan and defensive play calling during the game? I will go ahead and say that from appearances, it does not look like he is very good at it, though I do not know how much latitude Pruitt has given him during his tenure here.

AP is saying those coaches will likely be back IF Pruitt is back. AP and Hubbs are going to assume he’s back until they’re told he’s not. Doesn’t mean they don’t think there’s a good chance he’s let go. But until he is they’re answering these questions as if he’s back.
Hubbs alluding to the only way there's a settlement is if the investigation turns up something really bad. Highly doubt it does. Therefore, he back.

Whatever happens, it needs to happen. If Pruitt is gone, we need to get the new coach in quickly so they can set their staff and address any team needs, whether it be through the transfer portal or signing additional guys in February. If Pruitt is staying, they need to let him start addressing staff needs. Dragging this out does not benefit the program IMO. Make a decision, then deal with the consequences.

Man, I’m terrible at my job and don’t even approach that much. I gotta get my head in the game.
Right?!!! I’m sitting here having to help watch two kids while doing projections and tax planning for my clients. Yet our millionaire staff is at home enjoying some time off after one of our worst seasons in history. Something seems off right?

They're actually going to bring back all three major pieces of Pruitt and Chaney and Ansley after one of the most horribly mismanaged seasons we have ever had.

Unbelievable.
They could replace Ansley and Chaney with a mop and a broom, or Bill Belichick and Andy Reid.

The team is gonna look the same either way because we have a micromanaging idiot telling them what to do. That is especially true for Ansley.

I had to occasionally work along side Pruitt during his first two years at UT. I had read that he was a USDA Grade A Jerk, and I saw that to be true. He likes to bully people he perceives are beneath him. When he's angry it's F this F that. Several of his assistants didn't like him. Almost all of them are gone. Two just flat left at the end of one season. They didn't like him or respect him. Since assistant coaches talk like gossipy women at the country club, I don't think the better assistants around the SEC who can get a job elsewhere will come to Tennessee to work for Pruitt. That's what happened to Butch in his final season at UT. Those who think Pruitt will figure out how to be a successful head coach, if given enough time and money, are just fooling themselves. He has a three-year record that proves he is incompetent. But if he stays at UT and eventually loses his stench, he's still an incompetent POS.

Idk I’ve wondered about that too but it’s impossible to really tell. I know that under Pruitt year 1 we played way more man coverage. I think that could have a lot to do with having the DL he was left (shy, Kyle, & DT) plus you had bituli who was a true downhill bulky run stopper.... it was one of those weird times where despite changing from a 4 man front to a 3 man front... we were somehow better equipped personnel wise to actually run a 3-4 (bob welton/butch are dumbasses).

So maybe Ansley has more of a zone based philosophy and that’s where more zone is coming from or maybe they don’t trust our DL to generate any pressure on their own... which i can’t blame them but it’s their fault they haven’t found a playmaker there in 3 classes.

Grandfather death & Covid19 recovery= Give the man a break
He has my sympathies for both, but if giving him a break means watching the program I love fall to pieces, no, I won't give him a break. Having bad things happen to you doesn't mean you get a break from being held responsible for poor job performance. Both of those things happened after he failed.

I don’t believe anyone is not being sympathetic towards what he’s went thru on a personal level with Covid or his grandpa passing. Everyone has to deal with those things in life. Nobody’s crushing him for that they’re crushing him simply bc he stinks at being a HC so far. His decision making is crush worthy !!

I think we were warned about this from his time at UGA, we just chose not to listen.

I think I’m gonna go into journalism.
“There’s a 50/50 chance something might happen, unless it doesn’t, then it won’t, but something might. I cannot admit, nor deny, that I have legit info, that is, if I do, or don’t...”

Can y’all critique my first write up? I’ll hang up and listen. Thanks.

Cat, this is why I still choose to believe he and the rest of them are gone, it's just a matter of time in the next couple of weeks. No way all these DA's come back with what CLEARLY happened or didn't happen on the field this season. Anyone with a pulse and sight can see how pathetically mismanaged our talent and program has been this year, if they bring these guys back, it's a big F you fans.
