Count Fulmer as one of those fooling themselvesFrom poster on 247:
I had to occasionally work along side Pruitt during his first two years at UT. I had read that he was a USDA Grade A Jerk, and I saw that to be true. He likes to bully people he perceives are beneath him. When he's angry it's F this F that. Several of his assistants didn't like him. Almost all of them are gone. Two just flat left at the end of one season. They didn't like him or respect him. Since assistant coaches talk like gossipy women at the country club, I don't think the better assistants around the SEC who can get a job elsewhere will come to Tennessee to work for Pruitt. That's what happened to Butch in his final season at UT. Those who think Pruitt will figure out how to be a successful head coach, if given enough time and money, are just fooling themselves. He has a three-year record that proves he is incompetent. But if he stays at UT and eventually loses his stench, he's still an incompetent POS.
I think Pruitt’s respect for Fulmer is genuine, and I’d bet his admiration for Fulmer has been made very clear in all their conversations over the years — and I 100% think that ego-fluffing is why Fulmer doesn’t want to fire him.
Hubris is a hell of a drug.
So you want someone to abandon who they are and be a phony to appease you bc they’re not winning enough games?
Nobody should be mad at Pruitt for his personality - he is who everyone thought he was.
Be mad at Phil if you want for hiring him. That makes more sense than complaining about Pruitt’s personality, which by all accounts has never changed.
I'd click it.I think I’m gonna go into journalism.
“There’s a 50/50 chance something might happen, unless it doesn’t, then it won’t, but something might. I cannot admit, nor deny, that I have legit info, that is, if I do, or don’t...”
Can y’all critique my first write up? I’ll hang up and listen. Thanks.
And that is disgusting to me. It us even more disgusting that a lot if idiots posting here are ok with that. I have always thought that our fanbase deserves a winner, and I still think most of us sane fans do, but the portion of the fanbase that is willing to rat us all out just to force Pruitt out the door deserve the seventh circle of CFB hell we are all about to be in thanks to them. This is literally what someone working for Trey said. Someone/some people wanted him gone.
I think it all boils down to what the coach getting fired actually knows that could be detrimental to the school. No one wants to air their dirty laundry in the press or court room. Depositions are very tricky and you have to answer any questions that are asked. It's best to just mutually part ways with an agreed financial package. Both sides win.I think the decision plays out and if he is still here by New Year's then he is staying. I also think its pretty hard to fire for cause. Like AP said we had all the evidence in the world on Curry willfully disobeying his boss and we still paid his buyout. Now the interesting thing is what happened with Bo Pelini at LSU. If you read the press release it says they parted ways. The two parties agreed to a financial settlement to end his employment agreement, according to an official release, with Pelini set to accept a one-time payment in lieu of liquidated damages detailed in his contract. So this way he was no officially "fired". Thus he doesn't have that blackmark on his resume. So maybe we can save $3-4M and just part ways.
I think so too, I think Fulmer is doing his best to try to help him in some of the areas where Pruitt is lacking but he resents him for it. Sometimes you just got to let a coach figure it out and eventually pull the plug if it isn't a fit. Can't manufacture chemistry.I think Pruitt resents having fulmer “butt in”
So much

So disturbing. However, also very appropriate.I just want to make a great hire so that I can do this to Alabama, Florida and Georgia.....
