"his". meh.

lol. it's like we forget who the QB was and what that really meant to us and offensive play....

but, whatev, i's gots narratives to serve.................
5 QBs have played since Pruitt has been here and Pruitt recruited 4 of them.

Who plays and how they perform is no excuse. That's on him.

Timing, IMO. The teams riding high at that moment became the upper echelon in the eyes of recruits. There used to be Top 25 and Top 10 in their eyes. That would put s as lot more teams in relatively equal light giving parity a chance to shift things around

Now, Top 10 and 25 means little. Did you make the playoffs? The rich get richer, and good luck breaking through

Alabama
Georgia
Oklahoma
Clemson
OSU
Notre Dame

That’s it

About 5 teams have the potential to establish themselves in that group, but very little others would
yep. and as long as your conf representative is a player in that mix, there's no reason for the conferences wanting it to change.

which is why the Big 10 changed their rule this year. and it's why ND was all about being in a conf, THIS year....something they'll likely regret one day when they realize they're going to have to get in one for them to be able to sustain at that kind of level. otherwise, you better schedule harder, and go undefeated. a lot.

the only conf that really would like to see some movement is the pac 12 and big 12. their bell cows don't look like the bell cows from teh ACC, Big 10 or SEC.....so every time there's a possiblity that two teams from any of the other three conferences can get in over their conf champion, that's going to raise eyebrows in a bad way. i think the Big 12 is fine with either TX or OU being their Bama, OSU or Clemson. and while OU has been close, and remains on that fringe, they're not there.

the Pac 12 needs oregon or USCw or really anyone to get back up to that level stay there.

either way, right now those two conferences are on the outside looking in, with the Pac 12 having the obstructed view....and the Big 12 sitting in that 1st aisle right behind 1st class....peeking thru the curtain...lol.

past that, and the outlier year like with LSU last year, you can probably just pencil those same 4 or 5 teams in the play off picture for the foreseeable future...

meanwhile, we just want to win 8 games and maybe have a chance at pulling an upset or two every now and then.

I'm excited to get this crap behind us next week. I think Chadwell is going to bring a lot of optimism back to a beaten down fan base.

Imagine next week digging into our current and incoming roster discussing ways he will get our playmakers the ball. Hang in there, IMO this is about over and some fun times ahead.

Curious if we are going to do what Arkansas did after Petrino. Interim for a year

It would give Steele a chance to earn the job without commitment to him and save assistant buyouts. Gauge interest for the following year from other coaches

I hate this idea
Same. It really sets you back in recruiting unless you are ohio state and play a crap conference

whatever. i'm not really disagreeing here.

what i am saying is that the QB bears the lion's share of the issues with the offense. we can quibble over woulda/coulda/shoulda as far as recruiting goes, and what he should have done with JG this year...most of which i won't disagree with.

it still doesn't change the fact that had we just had "good" QB play, things probably look a lot different for this program right now....

You poor thing. You honestly believe that nonsense. Maybe we can at least put a chadwell mask on pruitt for you. That's as close as you're gonna get.

I found this interesting from an Auburn message board regarding Will Friend. Anyone read or heard similar things? Totally plausible that it could just be a positive spin on their OL hire from the AU faithful.

"Friend was extremely successful at UGA, and even at Colorado State. After Bobo was let go at CSU, Friend ended up at Tennessee, where he was not quite so successful. Word from a Tennessee staffer is that Friend was not allowed (by the Head Coach) to hold his players accountable, a recipe for disaster. "

A look at the Auburn staff so far

Lol. Yet Brumbaugh was fired because he DIDN'T hold his player accountable.

What if they actually hired steele to get close to pruitt and catch him in the act of commiting violations that could be worthy of firing him? Then they plan to insert steele as head coach and hire chadwell as OC and hire an actual clone of saban as DC? Could be possible that folks at nasa have been working with fulmer since November, trying to clone saban or insert a football computer into Steele's brain.

I could actually see Fulmer doing something like that. Not Chadwell or Saban, that’s crazy talk, but ole Phil always has a trick or two up his sleeve. Something to keep an eye on imo.

I think he is biggest mistake since being here is missing on an elite QB..... neither JT Shrout or Maurer are good enough..... I feel like Harrison Bailey has a chance to be really good though..... I’m curious to see if the offense will look different if we have a full off season to prepare.
