Did those players say they are leaving when Pruitt is fired? Do you know that as fact?

Baileys dad has hinted it for sure and HenryT is also rumored: I’d bet a lot of $ henry leaves.

I’ll give the reasonable opinion instead of the ridiculous one.

when Pruitt is fired I hope we can have a head coach named before A player like Henry officially jumps ship. I hope that new coach can re-recruit HenryT and make him realize this place is the place for him.

That is not a fact...its a hint. If a player doesn't want to be here, then what is your hang up or issue with saying bye-bye? If we were full of potential and on the brink then its another story. We are a 6-6 team at best right now. They don't want to be here, then let them leave.

That’s shortsighted:

kids will be mad because they love their coach. That doesn’t mean they can’t come around to wanting to play for another coach just the same but if they are just kicked to the curb they would never get the chance to change their mind after the initial emotional response
It's shortsighted to keep a coach solely because players like him if he has potential infractions and below average performance.

you act like if a player has an initial reaction to losing their coach they are some how bad character kids that don’t deserve to be here. They can change their minds after emotional responses just like real people do and that’s just fine

DId I write that? Did I write that any player that doesn't want to be a Volunteer has bad character? No I did not. I wrote that if they don't want to be here, then bye-bye. 3-7 is not worth worrying about whether they leave us or not.

Are you glad Cade Mays is on our team?

I remember players throwing chairs when Fulmer got canned. Of course, that was before the transfer portal.

OK - why should we be concerned if the roster wants to transfer if Pruitt is fired? It's a 3-7 team. The die is cast. It's ingrained into their DNA. If the D players cannot see that the hiring of Steele is a big benefit beyond what they've had as coaches last season as they regressed - they are too dumb to be Vols. If the O players believe being #108 in scoring offense is good and they threaten to leave if the coaches don't stay - they are too dumb to be Vols as well. Bye. Start over. Pope told the world what the problem was with a lot of this roster. We don't need guys who don't get it. They give UT many 3-5 win seasons over the past 12 years.

Many are leaving simply because they know that is their best option to get a good look by the pros. Good luck to them. If they are not getting developed well and/or not playing enough snaps, they should leave because this will be a total rebuild with a new system.

Sure it does. Their careers statistically are very similar. The biggest difference is Travis was on some of the best teams UT has had and Chandler was basically the opposite. I dont remember fans thinking it was a good thing when Travis graduated.
Lol! Their careers are not remotely the same. Stephens played behind arguably the two most talented backs in UT history in Henry and Lewis. Stephens, I believe set the UT single year rushing record his last year here. Chandler lost his job to a younger player. Stephens was fast and shifty and could make people miss. Chandler was fast and not shifty. He never created yards on his own when the blocking was subpar.

I think Chaney was hamstrung with JG. If Bailey is the guy, I think he has a major piece to work with. Its so important for a team to have a good QB. I think HB can be that guy.
I also think pruitt just makes some really bad decisions in regards to qb. He couldn't have screwed up the qb situation any worse than he did.

We need to announce a HC ASAP if Pruitt is fired so we do not lose players to the portal. We should do it as quickly as Auburn did. Hopefully it will be a well regarded coach not named Freeze.
