I heard him go on a semi-rant against Garner a few years ago on Sportstalk. I know he has not liked him for a long time, but have no knowledge as to why.

Worst thing they can do for this program is to fire Pruitt this late and then promote Steele as interim for the year. Will have mass defections on this roster and forget recruiting success as the 22 class will be left for our competition. No Simpson. The great in state crop squandered. Just keep Pruitt if that is the alternative

I look at Steele and Pruitt as on the same level as far as coaching abilities but I think the difference would be that Steele wouldn't be so stubborn and would act more like what an HC is suppose to act like. Let me make clear, I would also be disappointed if Steele ended up HC. You would think Fulmer and the powers to be would have learned their lesson on hiring an unproven HC but not sure they ever will learn.
