The vawls99 dude was the first I saw, on here. He even added extra about the recruiting staff getting the axe.
Read his afterwards. Prolly a time stamp thing. I don’t think either piggy backed off the other.

I may sound like a fool, but I still don’t see us getting a crushing punishment, 50 violations or not. If we do, the NCAA will have forever removed any incentive for schools to self-report. Compliance departments will become glorified cover-up operations (I mean, way more than they already are).

This isn't about Pruitt. He was going to get fired now or later for failure. We can not and will never compete with the professional machines at Alabama, Georgia, Florida..etc etc etc..by being squeaky clean....period.

Recruiting will really tank, and we will be Vanderbilts big brother for real and forever. You can not compete in the SEC for championships with classes ranked in the high teens and twenties.

I do not see how that fact is not apparent to everyone.

I think there are ways to recruit with the big boys that are harder to trace, or using loopholes. You hear lots of stories down here in the midst of the Ole Miss/MSU blood feud warzone. I really think Pruitt got tired of not having the toys he had at Bama and decided to crank it up to 11.

I wouldn't jump through the ceiling for O'Brien, but he did navigate PSU's situation and stabilize them quickly. Not to mention they were competitive, even with a god awful OL and a project at QB.

Kiffin and Freeze also highly qualify under the "navigating a s*** show" pain points

I still wish we would put our money where our mouth is and get a 2-for-1 straight from Iowa St with their AD and head coach. It's an expensive, but complete solution.
Big plus for him is he’s not married to one type of offense or quarterback. Could see him winning with Bailey or Salter.

They have to do something. If the school doesn't bear some responsibility, there is zero disincentive for hiring dirty coaches. I'm sure it will be far less than it would have been if NCAA was the one leading the investigation.

Most great coaches are a-holes. If you're a stereotypical "nice guy," I don't think you'll do well as a big time football coach. You have to have some type of edge to your personality because the job is so competitive and performance-based.

I hear you. I just think him getting fired and forced out of Houston despite winning a lot is a big red flag. Not a ton of nice things about him came out of there.

He could be exactly what we need though. I don't know the guy. I just think these red flags will probably reveal themselves down the line. If not right away.

He will probably hide away at Bama and be labeled a genius again within 3 years.

We could probably do much worse. But man it would feel like a missed opportunity to me if that's where we land.

We should just schedule an exhibition game somewhere nice for the years we have a bowl ban if we are worried about recruiting. Would be nicer than going to Memphis anyways.
