Please give us Ingram. The guy resurrected a program that was LITERALLY shut down. Tennessee has metaphorically been shut down. It’s the perfect fit.

This would be the first step in restoring some faith in the fan base. Don’t overthink this just fire the guy.
We haven’t even HIRED him yet! 🤨

I’m surprised no one is pushing for an outside AD to get this job. We may need a complete outsider to clean this mess up

I looked at some numbers related with several HC candidates mentioned on VN. I only looked at records associated with collegiate head coaching experience, regardless of level of competition. I also arbitrarily identified candidates with a minimum of 4 seasons as a HC. I excluded each candidates worst season (should have also excluded the best season, but I did not). As a result, below are the overall winning percentages rounded to nearest whole number.

Coach 1 - 65%
Coach 2 - 66%
Coach 3 - 69%
Coach 4 - 66%
Coach 5 - 66%
Coach 6 - 64%
Coach 7 - 75%
Coach 8 - 69%

Based on the above percentages, one coach somewhat stands out. I was intrigued by this because I have been on the "Do Not Want" side if the fence for this candidate. But now, I have a little different perspective. I still have my preferred candidate based on other extreneous variables and intangibles, but just thought this was interesting.

Tom Herman

Coach 1 is Fleck, Coach 2 is Freeze, Coach 3 is Clark, Coach 4 is Kiffin, Coach 5 is Campbell, Coach 6 is Chadwell, and Coach 8 is Malzahn

HC- Lane
OL/Co-OC- Chaney
QB/Co-OC- Lebby
RB- Graham
WR- Tee
TE- No clue
DC - Steele
DL- Garner
LB - Lance Thompson
LB- Jerod Mayo
DB- No clue

I don’t want Tee, Lane’s WR coach is better and has only coached the position one year.

Co-OC and Co-DC is never a good idea imo, never works out well, for us anyways.

We are never going to succeed as long as we have factions willing to burn the entire house down to get their way. I see no end to the warring and while team Haslam no doubt celebrates victory and plans to give us yet another one if their lame ass coaches, there’s no doubt that those who’ve been vanquished are plotting their own revenge as we speak. We have a bunch of children in charge who don’t care a bit about football, just their side being in charge. Let’s just hope they stumble into a decent hire because that is the only way we will get one. Fans will accept anyone with a pulse despite legit opportunities to dig out of the hell pit we are in.

Bingo

If it really is down to solely Ingram and Gilbert, why are we delaying this thing to the weekend for interviews? Get it done today or tomorrow and announce the hire Friday. I feel like each day is precious time this new coach and administration needs this off-season. Announcing late next week would suck.
Does the job have to be open, posted, and available for 5 days before being filled?
