Ya’ll just hire a great AD swing for the fences...and let that AD hire his guy. All this crazy Lane Kiffin talk is just talk. Go get the Oregon guy or White—we need a big timer. It’s about connections. We somehow lucked into Rick Barnes through dumb luck—-we’ve always screwed the pooch administratively. Big moves have to be made because you get to the point where you are alienating the fan base.

I think hubbs would consider lane more realistic if it fit things Boyd/plowman have said are major factors. Can you really see us talking about integrity/compliance then roll out someone that almost got us in that mess his first time around? I get he has learned a lot but it’s a risk when you need a clean one for NCAA to forgive you
Has Lane been in any trouble since leaving here? The stuff he was in hot water here for were minor if I'm not mistaken.

Peyton being heavily involved in this coaching search makes me feel a bit better about them not messing this up. The University will do its best to keep the embarrassment to a minimum. We don't want an Auburn situation.
The guy ok’d Schiano...I don’t want him anywhere near the coaching search.

The fact that it's been said that kiffin would want this job tells me everything I need to know.

The sheer amount of questions, criticisms, and insults that he would receive for taking this job and leaving Ole miss would be astounding.

He obviously regrets how he left things here; he obviously feels like he has something to prove; and if by all accounts he dislikes Saban, this is the most poetic place he could battle him from.

He has grown to love the south obviously, he loves football, he wants to succeeds at the highest level, and he's not scared of the challenges this job would present.

I truly believe and love redemption. And this would be a redemption story that college football has never really had.

I hope we can swollow our pride and give him a real chance to state his case because he deserves another shot, and he can't really achieve that in Oxford Mississippi.

This just shows that the “recruiting” done by Pruitt and co. was just guns for hire. A lot of these high profile players we signed jumped ship the minute their “motivation” dried up. They could care less about UT, the tradition, or playing for the orange.
And we still sucked 😂😂

He didn’t ok it. They asked him to help calm the masses. It’s not like he isn’t a good coach. He just wasn’t the right coach. People love trying to make Peyton the villain in that but all he was doing was saying give the guy a chance and support him because at that point things were signed and ready.

I don't want to talk about Steele being coach. I'm not having it. That's a conversation for a month from now if everyone else has turned us down.
Better raise hell then. Auburn tried it and we have already made it look like he’s been hired.

Caldwell would be a very good hire for the Texans. He'd be a GREAT hire for the Vols.

Like I said though, there's no way a guy at his age wants to do all it takes to run a college program.

The man is 66 years old. He is good and may be great, but a rebuild job of this magnitude? How long would you expect him to coach? How is he at recruiting?

Lane Kiffin throwing his clipboard 10 miles up in the air and wearing a "Merry Flipmas" shirt is what we need. And I think he brings a similar perspective on offensive strategy. Win with what you have.

My goodness, what could be.

These coaches need to stop abusing office products.
