We are standing at the gates of hell with one foot already in the door, and y’all think we’re going to get a coach worth a sh!t to agree to terms like that? The ONLY chance we will have at a coach that excites us is to over pay...by a LOT...and every f$&#ing clause in the contract will be to their benefit.I feel like Kiffin is the absolute best option if you want a quick fix with recruiting.
With a structured contract that basically makes it impossible for him to leave and has all kinds of morality clauses in it, I really think this is the best option. You have to be willing to tell the media to F off if you are UT leadership and not care how this looks.
I agree an interim at this point tanks recruiting worse than sanctions would. An interim only works during the season - you really need the the real guy in place for the offseason. There really aren't many guys that can come in and generate enough buzz to bring in recruits, but Kiffin is one of them.
I think hubbs would consider lane more realistic if it fit things Boyd/plowman have said are major factors. Can you really see us talking about integrity/compliance then roll out someone that almost got us in that mess his first time around? I get he has learned a lot but it’s a risk when you need a clean one for NCAA to forgive you
We don't really know how he feels about Lane now. But after Lane left UT, Peyton was not a fan. When asked about what he'd say to Lane if they had a chat, Peyton's response was simply "It'd probably be a short conversation."Does Peyton like Kiffin?
Guess he thinks if he's going to get blamed, he might as well get involved. He didn’t ok it. They asked him to help calm the masses. It’s not like he isn’t a good coach. He just wasn’t the right coach. People love trying to make Peyton the villain in that but all he was doing was saying give the guy a chance and support him because at that point things were signed and ready.
