i think we should not mention his name, at all, from this point forward, so we can keep at least 1 candidate out there that most of us would be able to get excited about, somewhat of a out of left field hire....agree?

I can relate. They found out my mom had breast cancer a few weeks back. Went in to remove a tumor and biopsy so lymph nodes to check for spread. Found out today they have the pathology back, but wouldn't give me the results. Said we had to wait til her appt on Monday. Going to be a long weekend. Hoping and praying it hasn't spread. Don't think I could handle that.

Let's talk about Lane. Dude is obviously an offensive genius. Defense has always been his struggle. What is his ceiling at TN? Can he truly be the guy to bring us back to championships.

We look at his first year at Ole Miss, and dude knows how to score points. He scored 48 against Bama, but allowed 63. A bad Arkansas team held his offense to 21 points. Are we sure he can win at a high level?

Don't waste your ink. Some of these folks are clueless when it comes to knowing talent. NFL teams and every opening in P5 want him and there's still sombody that has some great insight the others don't have.

I know “cuck” is the insult du jour, but that’s the first word that pops into my head when I read these Kiffin-or-bust posts. He royally f**ked this University once, and he won’t hesitate to do it again. Yet some fans would welcome him back with open arms. Pathetic.

Dude left our school at 34 years old to take over this USC program. Do you blame him? Its been said multiple times that he wished he hadn't left. He made a mistake and had the opportunity to take over an elite winning program. He literally had no ties to us. It was a crappy move, but its been 12 years. Can't blame him for all the terrible moves we've made since then. I'm all about second chances. You make sure everything is beneficial on your end of the contract this time.

If I am Mr.White my first call is Bill O’Brien.He resurrected Penn State out of a lot worse situation than we are in.He also has NFL head coaching experience which could help with recruiting.I wouldn’t pay attention to his NFL coaching record.You can’t control player personnel in the league. Lots of great college coaches don’t do well in the NFL. I know he just signed on to be the oc at Bama but I would make a run at him.

He was GM for the past year and traded DeAndre Hopkins for David Johnson.

Doesn't matter, he's off the market anyway.

This is such a stupid point. Saban nor Meyer had experience in the south and they turned the conference on its head.

Then Kiffin should scare you too. He's had one remarkable year as a P5 coach. If you can't succeed at USC then you're not made for the big stage.

You do understand he had to navigate severe ncaa sanctions there, right? and still had a 10 win season. He went 8, 10 and 7 wins. Campbell couldn't even win 10 at Toledo in the MAC. Hell, Butch Jones even had an 11 win season in the MAC.

Anyone listen to VQ power hour? We are about to hire big folks. Hubbs caught Plowman after the PC and asked “so your telling me you didn’t talk to another candidate not a single one besides White?” She told him she is used to academics where everything is out in open and goes through boards and this was first time it was a hush hush deal. She said the best advice she got from talking to people was to pick your guy. Go all in and make him tell you no. So that is what she did.

Best thing I've read in the past 50+ pages.

To be fair, the game has changed a lot since 2009. That defense was middle of the pack in the SEC in yards allowed and ppg allowed
