He was all about the G5 getting respect and being represented when he was at UCF. Granted, he's at UT and in the SEC now, which couldn't be further from G5 world, but even still. You have to wonder if he's going to go after a G5 coach to prove a point. Chadwell, Fickell, Napier, Buffalo coach, even UCF coach, or the Tulane coach.

Southern experience is so overrated. The dude knows talent and can clearly develop it. Urban had no ties to the south and killed it.

For that matter, Butch Jones recruited pretty well for a Michigan band kid.

You do understand he had to navigate substantial ncaa sanctions there, right? and still had a 10 win season. Campbell couldn't even win 10 at Toledo in the MAC. Hell, Butch Jones even had an 11 win season in the MAC.

USC is a top 3 recruiting location. And the PAC 12 is pitiful. Losing 10 scholarships shouldn't excuse that 7-6 season and 3-2 start that got him fired.
