Why is that a "Hank take"? Kiffin has never really accomplished anything as HC other than getting fired in the most embarrassing way ever.

I say that, but I do still believe he has the potential to be a very successful head coach..IF...he ever puts a decent defense on the field.

kiffin is risky. less so than 10 years ago, i believe, but a risk none the less.

the biggest issue as i see it, would be that other than what he did at FAU, he's not ever really run a program to fruition, and had to maintain/sustain....

but, if could get somewhere, and he has a shot at Ole MIss, and get off to a good start, and keep the recruiting up....i think he's gonna be a problem for a lot of folks.

agree on the defense....but part of that is on the university to make sure he has the resources to go hire at the level he needs to....

he'd get that here. i don't know that ole miss will ever out resource other programs in the SEC.

In my opinion, Kiffin is not a good head coach. He's a great OC but his teams have terrible defenses. A great coach should not have terrible defenses. Someday, he may wake up and hire someone to run the defensive side of the ball but until he does that, he's just a great OC that happens to be the head man.

They have won games. Freeze has beaten Bama. Freeze was 9-1 at freaking Liberty and ranked in the top 25. Elliot is the OC at Clemson, literally one of the easiest jobs in the country.

Elliot = Lincoln Riley. Riley worked out well as a HC.

Hard to make that comparison. Riley put NCAA on notice with what he did at East Carolina under a defensive coach. Then did same at Oklahoma under a defensive coach. It was his install. Elliot took over a Chad Morris Install. We don’t know if he would have same success with his own install.

Kiffin is willing to up and leave yet another team that’s he’s asked players to be all bought in and made all kinds of promises to. Not to mention his record and on field resume isn’t anything crazy. There’s plenty of coaches that have far more Impressive resumes that are being dismissed.

Kiffin is a good coach. I think he would do good things here. But acting like he’s a for sure home run and would win titles here is silly because he’s literally never done that anywhere except for FAU.... where he also went 5-7 at.

Speculation is fun but DW is not a Tennessee guy and isn’t connected with anybody including local media. There won’t be any leaks of substance. All reports say he will stay quiet and keep this thing on the DL.

We will know when the presser is announced. I would guess at earliest new breaks Sunday night, but wouldn’t be surprised if there was breaking news day of the presser.

With how gutted the AD and Football ops are its def easier for him to keep this quiet outside of what he wants you to know. Leaks will have to come from the candidates side

How are they different. Brady has done nothing outside of having a great year at LsU with literally the best offensive football cast ever assembled in college football. Elliots resume and background is far more impressive than Brady’s and people would love Joe Brady. Maybe it’s a color issue???,
