Jeremy Pruitt of Alabama has multiple rings at multiple schools as a DC. Also was a national recruiter of the year to boot. I say we hire him.

I want a proven head coach but then again, I don’t have much say in the matter. Just think we could do worse if they pick a coordinator again.

It's impressive for Chadwell to win AP coach of a year, but that award doesn't mean he would be successful at a bigger job.

Didn’t Mangino win coach of the year? He has P5 experience and I’m sure we could find him a nice Twi’lek.

As much as I really don't want Kiffin, I would welcome him with open arms if it meant he was hired instead of Franklin.

In his first year, with less talent than Tennessee has.... he had Ole Miss as the number 3 offense in the nation. Regardless of what people think of him, the dude can flat out coach. He is as close to you can get to a sure thing out of the coaches that would come here. Recruiting would improve, thats a fact. Our offense would be HYPE. And even if we lost 5 games in his first season, we will be losing them while putting up 40 points on the big boys. Lane Kiffin scares teams like Bama, FL, GA. We need that right now....

I think the opposite- Joe Burrow benefited from Joe Brady. He was the key to that whole LSU offense.

I don’t understand why people do this. This is the same with Bama assistants - more often than not coaches from these recruiting powerhouses don’t do Jack **** with recruiting before or after these schools. It’s the school and bagman network that get the majority of the credit.

If it’s Elliot then I’m on board and hopeful he can replicate it here. But pointing to recruiting success at schools like Clemson, Bama, OSU, UGA, etc is fools gold.

He never called plays there. It was a title, like Associate Head Coach. He had a tough 1st year, but just signed their highest ranked class they've ever had. He'll be fine. He's landed quite a few transfers from p5 schools for next year too.

No matter who it is, it seems that we will have a fun offense to watch. That alone is refreshing after the past few years! Now I can be drunk and happy that we put up more than 17 points. We may lose a few, but it will at least be exciting watching Salter, Hyatt and Wideman grow.

If we are going to roll the dice on a coach, I'd rather just ask Mayo if he wants the interim tag for a season, with a guarantee to be Defensive Coordinator for 2022 if we decide to go another way.

Yeah Elliott has done impressive things but let’s be honest - Clemson has elite SEC talent playing ACC competition. Numbers are skewed.

If that is the case, I believe the job is his to lose.

Maybe. I like Mayo...alot. Elliott is also a dice roll. New hire may need the next 8 mos. to get clarity on the NCAA issues and Mayo might win the job outirght. He's an impressive coach.

If you're talking about Elliot then this is an unsubstantiated claim. The article on the Athletic would suggest him going anywhere for the money is the furthest from his mind. He's not wired that way. He is a man of faith.

I'm not saying he's my first choice but he did turn down an interview with the Panthers back in December to stay focused one the Ohio St game. If he was simply chasing dollars he would be gone from there by now as he's had many opportunities.

I know it's driving me and everyone else crazy with no real "nugs" coming out but it's best this is the way it's handled. Especially after the last coaching hire debacle and now the most recent debacle of the ongoing investigation and the way it's been handled. Preciate the info ya bring.

Guy on 104.5 they were interviewing on Friday said Tennessee zoomed with White at night. He was told the next morning to prepare because they would be in his living room in a few hours.
