IK this has already been said, but DW is one of those “look what im doing with my right hand so you dont see what im doing with my left” I highly I doubt elliot/dykes/franklin/etc will be our guy, they are just what he is doing with his right hand but we dont know what hes doing with his left yet

This I agree with, im nervous about what he could pull. But...
Elliott- HC
Streeter- OC/QB
Graham- RB
Tee- WR
Osovet- TE
O Line who knows
Garner- DL
Steele- LB/DC
Secondary??? who Steele wants
No thanks on Osovet. And I wouldn’t mind going ahead and moving on from Tee. Bring in all new staff and energy.

The man can definitely recruit

Tony Elliott All Time Recruits

I don’t understand why people do this. This is the same with Bama assistants - more often than not coaches from these recruiting powerhouses don’t do Jack **** with recruiting before or after these schools. It’s the school and bagman network that get the majority of the credit.

If it’s Elliot then I’m on board and hopeful he can replicate it here. But pointing to recruiting success at schools like Clemson, Bama, OSU, UGA, etc is fools gold.

I still want Kiffin. Haven't really given any consideration to anyone else.

All I know is we cannot take a chance on someone with no HC experience or an up and comer that's had a good season or 2 at a sunbelt school. That person may end up succeeding here and if so, Great! But it will most definitely be a "wait and see" situation.

Chadwell isn't ready, plus his one good year came in a weird year where teams couldn't practice half the time. Before this year nobody knew who he was, he has 2 of the worst seasons in CC history and his CSU program took a step back in his last year. Add to that he has 0 connections at the P5 level and its more of a disaster waiting to happen then Elliott.
Bro come on. You are clamoring for an OC who has never run a program and trashing Chadwell who just won the coach of the year.

Look at this article from when he hired Heupel, see him mentioned? See where they point out Frost came from nowhere? I think the media is playing checkers and White is playing Chess. Get ready to be excited and surprised at the same time in the next 48 hours.

As long as it's not like...

James Franklin told his players to cover up/delete evidence of a gang rape and that rape was both horrifying and highly publicized in the state of Tennessee. He is lucky He wasn’t charged with evidence tampering. He is a hard NO and shouldn’t be on anyone’s list and tbh, if he’s on a firm’s list they are a lousy firm.

There are few or no guarantees at head coach. But there is one fun coach. That's Kiffin. Let's have fun.

I like Lane's energy, I do. I like that swagger that he brings.

However, he doesn't have a real history of being the coach that warrants that swagger. He's been fired from three of his coaching gigs; left one in shambles after only a year, and fans think he's changed and deserves another shot while asking him to leave another program after one year.

It just doesn't make sense. If you think he's changed and that's what warrants him being considered than he wouldn't take the job and leave another school after only a year to begin with. If he would, he hasn't changed, regardless of what you think about his coaching.

I don't think Elliot is Pruitt. But I also think Tennessee isn't in a great position to not have this their Saban type hire. It may break the cfb landscape on price but it needs to be done
Yeah and I'm not advocating for TE over anyone here... Just can't stand writing him off for such lazy reasons...

I would be legit sad if we passed over Chadwell, AP Coach of the Year and Tennessee native, to hire an unproven coordinator who would only be coming here to pick up the check.
It's impressive for Chadwell to win AP coach of a year, but that award doesn't mean he would be successful at a bigger job.

Few pages back. Somebody from the FF talking about hoping we don't hire him because he is black and black coaches never do good in the SEC.
There will always be random people out there making comments..... Some is trolling and some are just ignorant people but it is an extremely small %.... when I was young I wanted a black coach bc I felt they would relate and help recruit higher level athletes..... sitting through the wade Houston years ruined that theory.

E.T.?

Eric Taylor?!

Fleck and Elliot don’t move the needle for me one bit.

Neither do a lot of the other names mentioned.

And this is probably because of my want to bring Lane Fkn Kiffin back home. I want the offense. I want the swagger. I want to sing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida.

Fickell I like too. Same with Campbell. But neither as much.

Nevertheless.... I do hereby swear to welcome whomever White hires with open arms and an open mind.

I bleed orange through and through and I desperately long to be relevant again.
Pretty much.. This.

So, you're back to pitching a baby fit because our AD is not hiring who you want. Cool.
Who I want? I want Kiffin but I would be quite pleased with SEVERAL other guys.
Its not about who I want.
Its about being smart enough to realize most of these names being tossed around will almost surely fail.
Its FINE if its not Kiffin. I get it and thats okay.
But to pass on Kiffin for a coordinator, a defensive coach, or an experiment/project coach from a smaller school? Its the same type of **** Tennessee has been doing for 15 years. Regardless of leadership, its these bad decisions that keep happening.

But I can promise - if Lane stays at Ol Miss, he will own Memphis recruiting.

So we’re gonna have to excel in NC to make up for that. Which is why I hope whoever we do get is open to keeping Jay Graham on staff.

Swaying LK away from Ole Miss after he's been there only one year is a monumental task. I think Lane would feel like a betrayer for a 2nd time and that bothers him. On the other hand a deal similiar to A&M's to Fisher would justify it to a degree. LK, imo is the #1 candidate to turn this program around.
