Who I want? I want Kiffin but I would be quite pleased with SEVERAL other guys.
Its not about who I want.
Its about being smart enough to realize most of these names being tossed around will almost surely fail.
Its FINE if its not Kiffin. I get it and thats okay.
But to pass on Kiffin for a coordinator, a defensive coach, or an experiment/project coach from a smaller school? Its the same type of **** Tennessee has been doing for 15 years. Regardless of leadership, its these bad decisions that keep happening.
I just think you need to wait and see who it actually is.

Elliot seems good on paper, but the history with previous Clemson OCs to HCs gives me pause. Chad Morris and Jeff Scott. A combined 19-48 head coaching record.
Jeff Scott...c'mon. He was a bad HC before he went to Clemson as oc.

Edit... Was thinking about Brad Scott..n/m

Swaying LK away from Ole Miss after he's been there only one year is a monumental task. I think Lane would feel like a betrayer for a 2nd time and that bothers him. On the other hand a deal similiar to A&M's to Fisher would justify it to a degree. LK, imo is the #1 candidate to turn this program around.
It would not bother him in the least. One of the many reasons he should not be here.

It's all so clear to me now...
- A football mind sharp enough to enable interstellar travel
- Rupture your ACL? Coach just pulls out the glowy finger thing, and BINGO, back in the game
- Gold chains and trashcans? Say hello to the Turnover Schwinn. Imagine the rush from the crowd as CET takes you on a lap around the upper deck.
- Proven track record of winning over kids and families once in the home
- Can put a little something in recruits pockets WITH HIS MIND

Over the moon, indeed. All in.

Saw this, truth.

Had a conversation earlier and was asked why I would be ok with Joe Brady and not Tony Elliott. Simple without Elliott Clemson is still Clemson, but without Brady LSU wasn't the same. If we hire a coordinator it had better be a coordinator that changed the whole outcome of a team.
He benefited from Joe Burrow just like all of LSU did. Did he make that much difference for Carolina?

Bro come on. You are clamoring for an OC who has never run a program and trashing Chadwell who just won the coach of the year.
Agreed. If they seriously are about to trot out someone a coordinator or a defensive coach or some project/experiment... just give me Chadwell. He will almost surely have a good offense. At least the games would be fun to watch.

I still want Kiffin. Haven't really given any consideration to anyone else.

All I know is we cannot take a chance on someone with no HC experience or an up and comer that's had a good season or 2 at a sunbelt school. That person may end up succeeding here and if so, Great! But it will most definitely be a "wait and see" situation.
Or Conference USA....

Oh, I know. I'm almost always just reacting to whatever name is floating around here.
I don't have much hope that Tennessee will make a good hire just because they have new leadership.
We've ben through this before, you know. New leadership, everyone saying this time we will hire a coach that can get it done?

I think it has to change at some point. Danny White seems like the right guy. That remains to be seen. Really hope he is.
