Here is where I am with PJ

I see him a lot like Mullen. I always thought Mullen was a really good coach, but not a championship caliber coach. I thought he would get the typical “program boost” to his wins, but still be pretty much what he was.

I think PJ Fleck is this at worst. Given where we are at with our program, while I was not ready to settle for Mullen before, if we truly can’t get an absolute home run, I am more than ready to ride with Fleck and hope he can be an inside the park HR over time, like Saban

Chicken/egg.

It's a valid concern. I do think that's a result of the experience we just went thru with JP.

Elliott has recruited full cycles at Clemson, and had produced results.

He's got a bonafide track record... Dare I say moreso than Pruitt in regards to recruiting?..

Again, not advocating for Elliott per se... But we could and have, done way way worse.

I'm not willing to write him off because 'Elliott=Pruitt' simply b/c they're both coordinators... That's all
Pruitt was national recruiter of the year.

Elliott = Chad Morris = Pruitt = another 3-4 years of sucking.

I honestly believe the sticking point for Campbell or Fleck would be the NCAA investigations. If AD White and the admin can convince them we will be ok, I think we get either of them. Chadwell’s star is rising. He would take the job if offered.
Yeah.. The AA deal is a tricky land mine for us to get around. The other thing is the roster.

To me it boils down to two things.. Assuming there's interest on Campbell's side and money has proven to be no object... that's time and support...

We don't know for sure what comes down from NCAA as far as penalties.. We do know we're gonna self impose something, and I'm sure that's discussed already.

So if I'm Campbell and I want the job on any level...I want some assurances... I'd push for a 7 year deal where the buyout increases in years 3 & 4... Id want know what kind of budgeting and accruals are being made for on field staff and analysts... Among other things.

Bottom line if "the guy" on our list is giving us an opportunity to hire him... I'm not sure there's much you say 'no' to.
