Wow. The Elliot hate seems more than a little irrational.

On one hand, I definitely see the benefit of having an experienced HC, but I would much rather have TE than some of the HC names being thrown around. He has been kicking our ass in recruiting for a few years now, runs the perfect offense for us, and would come in highly motivated and energized. That is the culture at Clemson and he has been a big part of it.

If we can get Petersen out of retirement or pull Campbell from ISU, then great, but even then there are no guarantees. Frankly, I think it is a moonshot to try to get a top tier coach here right now, no matter what we offer.

But having DW in place would automatically disqualify any comparison between TE and Pruitt. Having the right AD in place can make all the difference and PF was never the right AD and any coach he hired would have failed. Culture starts at the top.

Elliott has had tons of talent and faced fairly weak defenses.

Check his stats against Bama and OSU. His teams still put up points in the playoffs where they were a little less talented

Campbell, Fickell, Fleck. It does seem weird that no one has come out and said Campbell is not interested and ruled himself out................

If you noticed in his introductory press conference, they mentioned using NDAs and similar for Whites hiring.

It's very likely that anyone who has gotten more than a cursory look has had to sign something similar.

That said, and if my suspicion is true, it means nobody who is taking this to a serious conversation will be able to discuss it, one way or the other.

It hasn't hurt Saban because he has 5 stars in his 3 deep rotation. No one wins National Championships without great players. If Saban didn't have 5 star recruits, he would just be another head coach.

Oh no doubt about that. No one is fielding more talent and few are even close.

But he also attracts really good coaches as well. When your OCs include Kiffin, Sark and now Obrien you attracting a lot of coaching talent as well.

Dabo hasn't really been tested on coaches in the same way as Saban.
