Fulmer for me is #1 on the list of people at fault. Pruitt is 2nd and Donde is third.

I do agree that she could have squashed the NCAA investigation and gotten rid of both Fulmer & Pruitt without setting us back so much. It would have been more expensive for sure though. But she didn't go that route for whatever reason, moral high ground, pettiness, who knows. We did however get a grand slam of an AD hire and I feel really good about the HC hire.

We can speculate all we want that a "clean" break from Pruitt/Fulmer may have improved our candidate pool for the new HC. It might have, but we'll never know if firing Pruitt and paying his buyout would have meant we could have landed Campbell or Fickell. Could have still landed where we are now. I feel like things would have went differently too if Pruitt had just been willing to negotiate a lesser buyout as well (one reason he's 2nd and not Donde).
She had to involve NCAA. Everyone in college football knew we were committing lots of recruiting violations.

Just after Swain interview. Dougherty says heard Pruitt called offensive plays. Around 10:45 mark

I’m actually convinced Pruitt started JG because JG knew the ruse and was told to shut up and he could keep his job. lol. That’s literally the only explanation for him playing as much as he did

Listening to Ainge this morning. He and Brian said that Steele had a job here if he wanted it. I have an idea it's not at DC. If he chooses not to accept it, no buyout.
If he turns down $900 k from us? He’s giving up $900 k. Auburn’s paying attention!

Does anyone else feel there are other problems at Tennessee aside from any NCAA sanctions? The reason I ask, our last four hires, Dooley, Jones, Pruitt, and now Josh have been well down the list of prime candidates. Could it be power boosters who want to guide the coach instead of letting him do his job, or ADs who meddle to much. If we are to believe, money was in place to hire a big name. Hopefully DW can fix the problem, but anyone who thinks sanctions are the only issue are fooling themselves.

Certain boosters came out of the last coaching search with egg on their face...

They are back in charge now.

Hence why the FU money wasn't used to hire a coach.

Also the probable reason the new AD was told to tell the fan base to STFU.

Tee stirring up drama among VFLs and players is about as much of a pussy move there is. His ego won’t allow him to realize that he was never a serious candidate here as HC and now he’s trying to do as much damage as possible. I don’t care if he had a back room deal with Fulmer. Turns out Fulmer got canned and so did your deal. Either get in line or get out. Simple as that. And it really hurts to say that about a former player.

That makes sense. He doesn't get the full contract because he chooses to leave. His contract was not written to guarantee him a certain role (DC). If we say you are the LB coach or analyst and he says no thank you then why in the world would he get his entire salary?

We're going to be forced to keep Tee, who did absolutely nothing with the WRs this year, just because of some stupid drama that isn't even the JH's fault. I was really excited about getting Kodi Burns, too.

This is one of many reasons why Tennessee will continue to fail because it keeps employing unqualified coaches just because they played here. We're already handcuffing JH so what's the point anymore

Give him a decent salary and stick him in the analyst room with Steele. Make that office far enough away that they don't interfere with real coaching. Let's ride.
