We're going to be forced to keep Tee, who did absolutely nothing with the WRs this year, just because of some stupid drama that isn't even the JH's fault. I was really excited about getting Kodi Burns, too.

So sick of of stuff like this. You’re a freshman that hasn’t even figured out where to eat on campus yet and you come in here trying to influence your new head coach into making a hiring decision you like? Know your place, STFU and get to work.

Agreed...this feels ugly right now but it will blow over pretty quickly however it is resolved.
Hubbs is on VQ saying this will get ugly. Why? Tee is unemployed. He has no contract with the university. Why does this have to be ugly? Just go get another job. What is the deal?

And we always hear stories in hindsight how coaches are forced onto a HC, and how that caused problems.

Because he stomps around entitled because he was the QB of that 98 team that no one cares about in the current world of college football.

Not to mention I doubt he gets another job

Players turning on the new staff/AD.... Coaches fighting because JH doesn't want Tee... Its not good, we just cant have nice things.

Tee hangs out with teenagers all the time, and it's clear that's where he takes his emotional cues from.

Admittedly this is an outsider's perspective, but it looks to me like this "movement", for lack of a better term, isn't so much about Tee being on Heupel's coaching staff. The players, both former and current, are upset because they like Tee, and Tee turned down other opportunities to stay in Knoxville due to a promise by the former AD. Now Tee is left holding the bag with Fulmer and Pruitt on the way out and he feels like he deserves a better shake from his university.

Also I've seen some players mention they don't see enough diversity in the administration at UT and they want to change that.

There's no room for division with this new staff. If your going to behave like that you can GIT legacy player or not.

Tee is going to be well respected at UT for his playing days and rightfully so. As a coach though, if the rumors are true that Tee didn't get along well with Pruitt, intentionally missed meetings and was caught sleeping on the job he has to go. Whether he liked Pruitt or not he should've still been giving his all for UT. He should have been fighting for his players to be the best that they could be and been coaching harder than anyone else. The love for UT should should always win out vs. saltiness against your head coach. We don't know for sure if he behaved in this manner or not behind the scenes but if he did he needs to be shown the door and not be brought back as a coach until he has proven elsewhere that he gives a darn and actually does something.

I hate to say it but I could definitely see the laziness happening behind the scenes. The coaching staff was seriously divided and it showed in player effort + execution on the field.

And Tee could squash all of that by being an adult. I totally get complaining/venting to your close circle, but even if it's warranted, you have to be a professional publicly in this line of work. And you ESPECIALLY don't tell the players you're coaching how you feel. That's bush league.

I actually don't see it as an issue at this point. She foresaw a scenario where coaches would be terminated, other coaches would be looking for work and not caring about the current team, and she needed someone from the outside to attempt to hold it together. While she had a timeline in mind, it doesn't always work out that way. We are spending 900k over 2 years when we currently saved 12 million (maybe less with a settlement).
Yeah I have absolutely no issue giving Steele 900k to help hold everything together until we got a new coach. I don't care if it's a year or 8 days. As long as we don't force handcuffs on the new AD and coach going forward we'll be better off in the longrun.
