I’m not buying the potential difficulties in recruiting.

If Heupel can put an exciting product on the field this year, then he can pull Simpson.

If he can pull Simpson, then he’ll have a really good chance at pulling the bulk of the instate talent this year.

If he can pull the bulk of the instate talent, then he will have a top 12, maybe top 10 class.

If he continues to improve on the field, then recruiting will only get better. Win games and Tennessee sells itself.

If you get Neyland rocking, the recruits will come.

So true. Players follow other players as much as coaches these days.

Has anybody tried to watch the basketball game through the ESPN app? Keeps timing out for me and won’t play, but I can watch the Spanish version just fine just English version won’t play. Anywhere else I can rewatch?

The part this misses is that Simpson as well as many of the better in state kids will make a decision before JH can proved anything on the field. He needs recruiters now.

I had problems with it last night for about an hour. Was finally able to watch. Try logging out and back in.

Your single-variable metric of success lacks significant input from variable data. Your "analysis" focuses solely on Ws and Ls. As many have pointed out, and which you have ignored, are variables like 10 of his best players opting out this year, 2 season-ending injuries to starting and backup QB, and the fact that all of his losses were one-possession games.

You love to use big words and concepts that you picked up at Sloan to make yourself seem smart and impressive, but fail to see the bigger picture. It makes you look like a pompous ass who tries too hard to sound intelligent. In reality, it highlights your lack of intellectual nuance. Nobody cares what you think anymore.
2 of the 10 sit outs were projected starters. I agree we have to look at everything more than Ws and Ls, but 10 of his best players didn't sit out due to Covid.

The hire alone. He hired a coach that has overseen a significant decline of a program he took over that happens to be far easier than the SEC. 6-4 year 3 after taking over a 12-0. That is material and the data doesn’t look good. Sure, he has fun offense but clearly he isn’t outperforming his competition.

It’s pretty obvious that you haven’t actually watched UCF the last handful of years. It’s easy to just look at wiki and make assumptions off of record. What exactly did frost build? He was there for 2 years and only had one class that was mostly his and he was gone before they ever made it on campus. So heupel didn’t take over sustained success and an established machine. He took over a fluke year and sustained success by have two double digit win seasons. It’s harder to have good years after special seasons at programs like these. So i look at him going 12-0 and 10 wins again as very impressive and the 6-4 year is about where UCF should be. They have always been an up and down roller coaster.

Beautiful campus and culture there by the cost of living here is freaking wretched.
Definitely nice. It is where my wife and I had our engagement photos taken.

Cost of living is relative I suppose. It is higher than Knoxville, but nothing like out west or NYC. We have lived downtown for 3 years and don't make all that much tbh, but we do ok for ourselves. But we had friends that moved away for 3 years to Manhattan and were paying $5,500/mo in rent and ended up moving back and being our neighbors and were ecstatic with the "low rent" in the South Slope...there's relativity for you.

Steele just cannot dictate what CJH does with his O. He did with Mahlzahn. Mahlzahn's O went from fast break to just no huddle/check with me. Slowed it down and it got worse over the years that followed. So Steele's D's benefitted from that change.

Steele (couldn't help myself) like what he did though. Go get the D-line for a pass rush and get picks in he secondary. That's enough 'contain' when you have a high scoring O.

That's the biggest question mark about JH offense...can you win in this league running tempo at the clip he has in the past. Sure you will put up a lot of points, but will the defense (regardless of the DC) be able to slow down the other team?

It certainly will work on OOC opponents and the weaker SEC teams, but what will it look like against bama and GA.

I have low expectations for this year. I see 5 wins as for sure. And 6 or 7 as possible. Anything overe that would be overachieving.

But let's say year 3 or 4 under JH, can the defense beat the elite teams (assuming good recruiting by this staff). I guess we will wait and see.

Look at the trend. If you want to average up then that is misguided analysis. Draw a chart and plot over the years the wins since he took over - significant decline.
You are trying to draw a trend from too small a sample size which is itself misguided. Especially considering that the major plot point you are relying on is from an anomaly covid year. You can look at Alabama in 2009 and 2010 and say the same thing, but you'd be wrong as shown by a larger set of data in the years that followed. Give Huepel time. Neither you nor I know how he'll do here, so stop pretending your cherry picked data proves anything.

There are some new wave ones with good apps, but you’ll quickly find yourself trading more than you should as a new investor. Here’s a good read about how these apps trick you into buying and selling and how they make money every time you do. 2021 Predictions & Person of the Year | No Mercy / No Malice

My advice would be to pick something you can throw money into and not worry about checking it every 20 minutes. Because there’s a reckoning coming in the market.
That's a little deterministic, "they trick you into trading more than you should." Be smart, know that you're playing with real money, just like a casino. If you get addicted to the rush, it isn't the apps fault.

Not if the excitement on the field is already evident by the spring game. If we are throwing it all over the yard and having fun in the spring game then I bet Simpson commits. Calling my shot. Kid is dying to be a Vol.
