How do we know that ?
I feel for you.Ok. Sure. I’m not bragging. I said I don’t have FU money. But I do have a some time share with UT. He got Ashley and her dad on the field. A poster who was on here before and after meeting AV. He was right this time with what was going on. Coaches like players will change minds and play games. Peasants like you with your feeble mind can’t comprehend it. You are not a peasant because of the lack of money. You are a peasant because of your lack of knowledge and your pontification of things you do not understand. The peasant comment is more of a tip of the hat to @Big Gucci Sosa Just like it.
I agree, but I don’t think this kid is another Vic Wharton or someone similar. He’s a Quarterback. He’s a quarterback who is also a son of coach, which means he’s well polished and already has a ton of intangibles. To me that’s a big deal. I really like our QB room as it stands and I am very confident that CJH will bring in talented QB’s, but the reason I’ve been harping on us landing him is because he can set the tone for the new staff. If Bama, Clemson and aTm are the main competition then i consider him an elite prospect who could be a better recruiter than any of the coaches on staff. I don’t see Simpson as just an elite QB prospect, I kind of saw him as the first piece of a puzzle that could bring us back to prominence by attracting other big time players. You get a kid here for that or any other reason except his ability to help the team is going to bite you. We have got several over the years that matched that exact scenario and few have worked out as we had hoped. (Vic Wharton for example) We need to remember these kids read their press and they all think they are ready and then reality slaps them up side their head, playing time is not there as they or their family had hoped then the excuses start, the finger pointing begins they end up transferring and you wasted a scholarship.
I think Heupel's offense will sell its self to a young QB and if not Ty. I fell pretty sure there will be others that are as good and or better suited for what or new HC plans to do. Winning is what draws the top kids and if things go as we hope "SEALING OFF " the state want be that hard especially for those that have dreamed of playing on THE HILL.
I'm not sure it's that black and white. From what I read, White presented Shannon to Heupel and he approved it. It was just too good a scenario to pass up. Shannon was a guy with a great resume, with great Florida ties, and his son was a linebacker on UCF's team at the time the job opened.
So it doesn't read like White forced him on Heupel, more like they had a chance to get a great DC on paper and Heupel stamped his approval on it.
Ok, I have defended DW and will certainly let this play out. But, I got issues if this is true. A true leader gives the people below them the power and authority to make their own decisions. I have no problem with input, but he shouldn't be directly making the hire.
