First chink in my impression of Dan White’s armor IF these accounts are true. I understand the emphasis on diversity, but ultimately you back the HC you hired’s hand. This is micromanaging on a Pruitt scale and rumbles of Randy Shannon at UCF.

I am hoping it’s false. But the BVS in me says it’s not.

He hired Randy Shannon for Heupel. That's a fact.

I'm not saying we know for sure this is happening here - we don't know it to be true, but past evidence says it *could* be.

But here would be my retort to your statement that Heupel wouldn't take the job if it were true:
1) $4M goes a long way, and we gave him a very long deal.
2) He was one subpar season away from being on the hot seat at UCF - especially with a new AD in town.
3) It does not have to be contentious that the AD wants a say on the construction of the football staff.

Just curious, how is him hiring Shannon "a fact?" That's kind of what I do, deal in facts. Is there something out there about it? Or, are we dealing in message board facts. Just asking.

Let me preface this with saying, I'd prefer my Head Coach choose his entire staff.

But there's some flawed logic in pretending an Athletic Director is football competent enough to hire a Head Coach, but not a Defensive Coordinator.

Again, obviously it's better for the head coach to do it, but it's not like the Gymnastics coach is finding candidates for a Defensive Coordinator.

Is it a fact that DW hired Shannon for Heupel or did he bring the two together and Heupel retained the ultimate decision in the matter? I've seen nothing out there to suggest that scenario one happened over scenario two.

Since you terrorize us all with your avi ... take that!

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe

More alarming to me would be if LA's post a few days ago about the diversity hire initiative indicated that this decision was being driven by those above White. Perhaps White was charged with making a diversity hire at the coordinator, if not the HC, level by his superiors. Maybe this is being driven to appease some of the non-athletic leaders within the University, maybe this is all bunk if not just a reach. But there is at least some circumstantial evidence that could support it. Combined with the history of academia meddling and BVS, it's just sort of how we can assume the worst.

Seems like you have to be black to even be considered. If true, then we are a racist University. Hire the best coach period. Don’t care if our head coach is black or purple. Just win.

You know good and well that is his 'thing' on here. His interpretations of tidbits of info from media websites quickly become his 'facts' that he spouts.
