I bet @Ron Swanson had a life lesson in there somewhere. That’s just evil....
In the war room last night, Hubbs said that we’re squarely behind the 8 ball with the 22 class. Said a lot of kids want to make early decisions and we just don’t have enough time to build relationships there.
Obviously if we look good on the field this year, things could change.
Right, I wouldn't say he was "forced" to hire Shannon. But when your boss comes to you with a "recommendation," you have to take it, don't you?
That hire failed - Shannon was awful.

Yeah we need to be shooting for 7 wins or so this year.In the war room last night, Hubbs said that we’re squarely behind the 8 ball with the 22 class. Said a lot of kids want to make early decisions and we just don’t have enough time to build relationships there.

The only roller coasters I don't like are those stand-up ones that have that piece between your legs. I rode one once and it left me walking funny from crushing my boys. Swore to never ride one again. It didn't scare me, it was just unpleasant, lol.
I hope it blows up in his smug, punchable face.Urban Meyer...the human unforced error.
Jags' Meyer defends hiring controversial Doyle
Exactly, this idea that JH met with Shannon, viewed his resume, and thought man this dude would be a terrible hire for the DC at UCF but I better hire him because my AD recommended him is beyond stupid. It turned out that he was a bad DC the last couple seasons at UCF. The idea that he would have been viewed as a terrible hire on the front end by JH is completely ridiculous. No, you don't. Two grown men discuss it professionally, and then a joint decision can be made or the superior says, "It's up to you."
Iowa thought it was substantiated enough to let him go. It is not just one, disgruntled player. It is more than that. That lends substantiation to the allegations.Y'all can say what you want, but refusing to black list a friend and colleague of 20 years on the back of unsubstantiated accusations shows character... Not a lack of character. Jmo.
Like Urban or not, the convenient thing to do would be to hire someone else and avoid the criticism. I can respect someone who does what they think is right instead of what is convenient. Especially these days.
