Outside looking in, but our inability to put a coaching staff together quickly that are trusted/liked by current players and recruits is hurting the program. When they have 3 to 4 years to get something together, 2 months in their first offseason is important.
Not sure what you’re talking about with current players. Lots of excitement from what I’m seeing.

Bordering on Sab territory here...

No love letters.

That is super flipping easy, if a player lays down on the field, fakes it, then gets up and runs off, assess a 5 yard penalty and make them sit out the following play, that would deter a lot of it I feel like
So now instead of taking a 15 second break, they cart the faking players off the field and they get a 2 minute break?

I don't think that's the answer.

I don't know what the answer is. Cramps are real. Stingers that take you out of the game for two plays and then you are fine are real.

The NBA can't even solve flopping, which is 10x easier to spot than faking injuries.

Can you fill me in on what’s going on? Does Austin municipal systems rely on secondary solar and windmills that are just covered in snow and ice now?
Texas has some solar and wind backups, but the whole system is down. There's a lot of reasons for it, but they were all easy to predict and avoidable. There's a lot of blame to go around but that's not gonna help anyone here this week.

I'd say 35 is the floor, but we'll be higher than that. I don't cosign @Big Gucci Sosa's number, just the general feeling that this class will be bad.

I think we're going to win somewhere between 4-6 games, and I think we'll finish at like 22nd in recruiting.

All I ever heard from people like Hank is "Tn ReCrUiTs ItSeLf" which by the way is total BS. TN is actually one of the tougher places to recruit in the SEC which is part of the reason their recruiting budget is always top 3. Schools like UGA, Florida, LSU, Auburn have an advantage when it comes to proximity to talent.

Revisiting the wrestling stuff. I heard one guy you never wanted to piss off was Haku/Meng. There are some crazy stories out there about him, including how he supposedly bit the tip off someone's nose in an airport bar fight.

One of the legit shooters in the business. Shawn Michaels tells the story of when WWE's DX did their invasion of WCW's Monday Nitro in Norfolk, he said they asked "What do we do if they send out security?" and the answer was something along the lines of "Make a big scene, it will be great for the cameras and for ratings." When they asked "What do we do if they send out Haku?" they said "Run."

i'm not really concerned about recruiting to be honest. it's not a secret that this staff has it's work cut out this cycle. it's late in the game by today's standards to get started on this group, and w/out the benefit of visits where kids can come to camp or practices or spring games etc...it just makes it that much harder.

assuming not much changes on the visit front, the trick will be what we're able to do in the fall. it has to look different...competent. i'm not sure how much w/l's will play in to it, it just can't look stale and boring like it has the last 2 years for sure.

i do think we're in it for Simpson, i don't know that i can get myself to believe his head will yield to his heart when it comes to making this decision, but if by some chance it does, i think that only helps our cause with this class. if he does choose elsewhere, then nothing really changes from where we are right now, as far as difficulty goes.

i'm hopeful guys like Burns and Garner can help with getting in some elite guys. i'm hopeful Banks has enough ties to places like Detroit and Memphis that it can get us some headway there. i do like our recruiting staff....

i think predicting a finish in the rankings is inconsequential right now. i don't even think we have anyone committed do we? lol.

It's also not just an Austin issue. It's all of Texas except el paso which is not on the Texas grid.

We did put a staff together quickly given the circumstances. Current players seem very positive about the staff. We are focusing on TN state recruiting, but this offensive staff has lots of Florida connections with 4 and 5 star recruits that might not consider UCF, but would love to play in the SEC in a high powered offense. Banks has Midwest connections and Garner (not Gardner) can flat out recruit anywhere.

The direction of the program started being up in the air from the moment they announced the investigation before the A&M game. We still don't have a complete staff. There was no plan in place and it's been a mess.

I am not out on the current staff, but the state of the program is a mess. They can be successful, but they have a lot of obstacles to overcome in a short amount of time

We fire coaches every 3-4 years. Kids don’t want that.
This is why I believe we need a lightning in the bottle hire which there’s no way to predict. We need someone who can break this death spiral. I pray it’s CJH, but there’s no way to know. I’ll give him my support and wait and see.

Ehhhhh, this contradicts Kingston and his FACTS that we will be lucky to beat out MTSU for recruits in this class.

State of the program has been up in the air for 12 years now. Bad decisions on top of bad decisions.

We have the rolling blackouts and I will raise you that they turned off the water in our city. Saving it for the fire department.
Melting snow to flush toilets is fun 😳
We're in day 3 of the rolling blackouts and it sucks but it's not as bad as some of the other places in Texas. Gonna be in the 60's next week though and back to the golf course :cool:

I don't disagree with your points long-term, I'm just not sure I buy it for the '22 class.
