I'm pretty sure about 40% of the population of Austin is just without power. Not even rolling blackouts. Just off. And some friends in Dallas told me it's about the same there.
Same in Houston. 36 hrs without power and water and only the coldest days on record for 120 years. And any updates on the news is this -

A lot of my question is whether or not we will be trying to recruit elite talent - some of the recent offers have worried me.

Rome wasn't built in a day, though, so we'll see if this is just a foundation class.

Just keep in mind, for '22 at least ya can't offer guys more than once. You know Pruitt & company spread their seed early with this group so I don't know how many in the '22 class (in state) we can still offer that don't already have one.

This morning he said a handful of others instate are leaning elsewhere. And so many hang on every word AP says they forget he’s just a fan and dramatic at times. AP builds relationships with these kids and takes it all too personally, IMO.

Recruiting will be fine. Better than fine. Banks is going to pull some elite talent from Michigan and other places in the Midwest. Garner is going to do the same in GA. And we don’t even know who the other defensive assistants will be yet but I’m guessing they won’t be bad recruiters.

Heupel’s track record with offense will pull plenty of top tier talent on that alone. He’s got Kodi Burns, the RB coach, Mack, with ties to Memphis and the Carolinas. Kids will be lining up to play in this offense.

They’ve also just assembled a pretty impressive off field recruiting staff.

My early prediction is we win 7-9 games this fall and finish Top 10 in recruiting.

The recruiting staff hires will pay big dividends in this state starting this year and moving forward. Offensively there's too much talent in state this year that will want to play in this type of offense. And for those who hang on AP's every word, he put UT and Clemson at 35% chances yesterday with Bama at 30%. He's said that Ty likes the idea of being the guy to 'lead Tennessee back'. In the end, AP is a fan, has UT connections, but he's a business man who wants to get as many clicks on Volquest as possible. That's why he, like all the other recruiting experts, have to be taken with a grain of salt. UT will finish at least in the top 20 next year in recruiting. How much higher they'll finish will be determined by the on the field product.

I felt like Pruitt put all his eggs in too many 5* baskets only to strike out late and end up having to settle for someone wayyy down the list. I feel like we’re at the point that we need a few classes well-stocked with guys in that 250-500 range, with the occasional 5* sprinkled in. Prove we can win 8-10 with them, then we may actually start landing some of guys like Pruitt was targeting with regularity.

I also feel like offensively we may recruit more toward the system we run, so a class there may end up being better than it looks on paper.

We are already worried about the 2022 recruiting class and UT has not yet announced the d-coaches other than Banks? That was fast. I thought the players did not sign their NLI's until mid-December.

Good luck to Cody and whoever else wants to leave now. Just leave. I would rather have a roster of 50 sold out VFL's than a roster full of maybe-whatever-the-grass-is-greener-over-theres like this one has been. Fill the other 35 spots with PWO's, transfers and jucos who want to be VFL's.

In a few years when CJH's guys are raining holy he!! down on the rest of the SEC the recruits will begging to be here.

long shot but I need some help if anyone is in the state department- specifically passports. I sent in my expedited app about a month ago and it’s still in process, I spoke to someone there tonight. I have to be on the Bahamas for work next Wednesday. No dates available for appointments at the one day agencies. I own the business so no one to pass the buck onto. Covid has slowed the process waaaay down and I was not aware. I’m located in Atlanta. Thank you if you can help.
For a minute there, I thought you were asking someone to help you with a fake passport :eek::eek::eek:. I bet some of these wingnuts in here could do it too :D:D:D

What I always found fascinating about Looney Tunes is that this was a staple across generations and historical eras from the 1930’s until some time in the 1990’s, and just about everyone that was a kid during that 60+ year period was familiar with the characters and could quote most of them. Then, all of a sudden, it’s like Looney Tunes wasn’t good enough anymore.

👍...and this is what is wrong with the world nowadays! Simple solution, WE NEED MORE LOONEY TUNES...I miss Mel Blanc😔

Give me the 5* studs on defense. I think JH will find ways to make his offense work.

Mines expired and the last time I checked they were on hold. That was a few months ago. I really need to get mine renewed.

I'm not as optimistic about the offense as others, but when and if it does start to show life, my guess is it will be later in the season when a ton of kids have already committed.

We're not going to beat Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, UF, etc. for kids this year due to our offense - because those schools will have better offenses. Doesn't mean we won't get a fair share of talent - I'm just not sure the "offense will get players on board" line of thinking is as clear a path as others do.

3 of our first 4 are OOC and in Knoxville, I think if anything we'll see the offense slow down once they hit the "meat" of the SEC for me the two biggest games on our schedule are South Carolina & Ole Miss (both here) we play them after our 2 road games to Florida/Missouri and before facing Alabama at the end of a grueling 8 game skid. If we face Alabama with 4 or 5 wins then we'll have impressed recruits enough in year 1 I think to make for a solid signing class.

Outside looking in, but our inability to put a coaching staff together quickly that are trusted/liked by current players and recruits is hurting the program. When they have 3 to 4 years to get something together, 2 months in their first offseason is important.

Can you fill me in on what’s going on? Does Austin municipal systems rely on secondary solar and windmills that are just covered in snow and ice now?

Accurate meme is Accurate 😄. I saw one channel teasing an update from the head of ercot and he got on and said "let us get the power back up". I was like, nobody is trying to stop you from doing that. In fact that is exactly what we want. Hahaha
