I have a question..... Is UT still paying for HT's online classes while he's being recruited by other schools? Is he in the portal so he can be recruited? Can you still be going to school while in the portal? Is he still in CA and not working out with the team? Can he just come in for spring practice later? Would he really go through spring here while knowing he is leaving? How does AL possibly have a scholarship to give him?????? Okay, a lot of questions because this makes no sense.
Once a player enters the portal, the school has the right to pull his scholarship. If he returns from the portal and stays with his original team, the coach has the option to give him his scholarship back or give it to someone else. The deal with HT is that he's one year away from being eligible for the NFL draft and if he transfers to another P5 school, he will have to sit out unless the NCAA changes their transfer rule, which is under consideration. There is also the issue with the SEC rule that covers players transferring within the conference. Another obstacle he has to overcome. Saban is hoping the NCAA changes the transfer rule so HT can play at Bama this year. That's why HT is not at Bama right now.

Seems "Need to hire recruiters" concern some had about CJH's staff is being addressed. Defensive staff is coming together and hope they bond quickly as a staff.
When you get the ultimate ringer in that department (Garner), the rest is gravy. In this case, really rich southern variety. Everyone is qualified coaching chops wise...even Martinez...grumble. Awaiting referenced chemistry.

I hope we are wrong about Martinez, but I agree with you. Rodney Garner was by far his most important hire when it comes to SEC recruiting. GBO

This may not be popular, but I think Heupel should make a power play and tell Henry, just go head and leave.

It would send a message to everyone in the locker room, idc who you are, if you not all the way in, no ones forcing you to stay.

Yep. You’re either in or out — no time to let indecision fester.

Let me preface this by saying that I 100% am for and glad that Brooks was released. We need Volunteers that want to be here. Having said that, I don't think it sends the right message to these kids. They need to learn that actions have consequences. They need to learn that when you put your signature on something that should mean something. What happens when he signs a loan document? We need to be telling these kids that when you commit to something, you should honor your word. Everything you own can be taken away but no one can take away your integrity.

The issue is it was clear fulmer went to him and convinced him Pruitt was staying. He wasn’t going to sign but was basically lied to get his signature. That’s why there was really no choice but to let him go

I think that’s the first time I’ve seen the real version of this classic

You got any goods on Jean-Mary? Good rep around Apopka/Orlando?

Then Tennessee fans add to the problem..... this kid was sold a bill of goods by Pruitt and our university..... we failed miserable to make this a good and fun environment for these young men to come play football.... his dad( although he should stay quiet) sounds pissed off just like any of us would be.... His son is a potential nfl player whose draft stock is being hurt bc our university has been so toxic..... this attitude of we just want guys that want to be here is ridiculous..... we will end up with just people from this board lining up to play football.... F Bama.... they can’t take Henry T without a fight..... we need to get down in the trenches and slug it out with them or we will always be their b$tch!
Was not implying that Tennessee fans need to take how they feel about the player to social media as the dad is doing. I'm sure HT and dad were paid very well to come to Tennessee so I am not feeling sorry for them. Now back to the situation......if he is taking classes paid for by UT while being recruited by other schools and contemplating going through spring practice at Tennessee just to wait to see if he can transfer to AL without sitting a year then Tennessee fans are not going to be concerned with his feelings but the feelings of the players he is deserting for his good instead of the team. I realize team doesn't mean as much anymore.

He’s already left. He’s not on campus anyway unless I am missing something

I agree but he shouldn't have signed. I have no doubt that Fulmer convinced him that Pruitt was coming back. I don't think Fulmer lied to him either. I fully believe that Fulmer thought there was no way he was getting axed and thus Pruitt. While he was misled, he still signed, made a promise. He should have manned up and made the best of it. Instead he gets to go back on his word. It doesn't really matter anymore but his word obviously means nothing. If he were my son, I would tell him that he needs to honor his pledge. Sometimes we make bad decisions. Obviously the kid feels he made a bad decision. Most of us pay a price for that bad decision. He's not learning anything by weaseling out of his agreement.

I don’t think Fulmer lied to him on purpose either. I said at the time and I think it’s true now that fulmer told him Pruitt was safe and he would release him if he didn’t survive. That’s why he signed
