Didn’t we lose to Florida twice because of our secondary’s failure to do their job? And a hail marry from dobbs erased a should be death blow bust. Was WM coaching those games? Either way can’t say I’m excited about hiring any of the coaches outside d line. Pretty sure we are in yet another rinse and repeat hope situation to take advantage of our fan base. You’ll know it’s Groundhog Day again when he gets up there in Destin and says “ the days of kicking Tennessee around are over...”

the Hail Mary was Butch last year under Shoop. Wm wasn’t here

the other year WM and JJ coached a hell of a game and lost on a 4th down scramble play.

I think it should be that if you enter the transfer portal, your scholarship is revoked and you start paying for school. We, or all schools, are giving you a chance at a free education, if you want out....you start paying for it until you leave. JMO

Would probably cut down on the transfer portal real quick.

Tbh many of us were skeptical, but believed he wouldn't put his career over his lifelong loyalties. And I don't believe he did, but I always thought...if he leaves or is fired, he'll be 100% Bammer again from day 1.

It wasn’t long after he was hired he mentioned his kids signing rocky top and posters here proclaimed he was all in and would never want to go back to bama. They honeymoon didn’t last long

I agree. I don’t think his loyalty to bama caused a single issue here. He just failed on his own but it wasn’t for a lack of working

And we were in position many times in 2015....because of the defense. Not in spite. We held Bama to 19 points and a 4th quarter lead. OU had 17 at end of regulation and if the offense had scored at all 2nd half, we would have won. Similar stories for UF and Arky games, but all that is ignored for a handful of plays that people remember over the whole. A lot like poker players...you never forget the handful of worst bad beats in your life, but forget hundreds of wins by the next week.

We'll see who they hire with the final spot. At this point I think we have a staff that can recruit and develop well enough to have moderate success (consistent 8 win seasons). I think the ceiling for Heup comes down to two things:
  1. Can DW fix the culture in the AD and create an environment where everyone is committed to winning
  2. Can Heup lead/manage a program at this level and avoid the toxicity that came with the previous staffs (really all the way back to Kiffin)
DW has a track record of accomplishing that. Heup seems well regarded by his offensive staff but is certainly unproven. We'll see if the stars have aligned.

I think most were always skeptical of him wanting to be here long term. But, he's gone now so it doesn't matter.

Anyone know the score of the basevols game?

Yep that Defense was really prepared. Same against OU. The offense just couldn’t end it
