I hope he gets in a game or two and plays specials teams but that’s it.
If he gets significant PT then we aren’t very good
I still think Jancek will push for some field time. Kid is a very good receiver.Awww, come on. If Jancek is catching dimes in the 3rd quarter it would mean that we are destroying some team.
So I think that you should really hope that Jancek plays plenty. This coaching staff will run up the score up any chance they get so that they can actually play 3rd string and develop the players correctly.
I was a little disappointed in the secondary. A couple of guys that i was hoping would make strides looked like they didn’t belong in the sec. i like our DL and the versatility they have to one and two gap against the run. It’s impossible to judge the LBs tho although i think the Garland kid looks the part.
Kid was afraid to throw the ball down field and miss a throw because he would be pulled immediately if he did anything wrong. I firmly blame Pruitt and staff for that.

pruitt was a safer approach, so safe he preferred not to scoreThere’s part of it though where you don’t want it to be all the QB does. That was his issue last year, which granted he was a freshman in a primarily vertical offense but he would come off too quickly and not let the play develop, leaving a lot of plays on the field. So there’s a balance that every coach will differ on. Some coaches want you to push the ball downfield and can stomach more turnovers and some coaches prefer a safer more cautious approach.
This is something we should’ve been doing the last 10+ years. I pray that happens with this coaching staff, why the others didn’t think that way is beyond me.Awww, come on. If Jancek is catching dimes in the 3rd quarter it would mean that we are destroying some team.

I don't know if they thought that way or not. We literally couldn't blow teams out. If we built huge leads it wasn't until the 2nd half, and you are talking about maybe 2 games under Pruitt. This is something we should’ve been doing the last 10+ years. Here's the cheerleader's take after spring practice.... The team seems to have come a long way in a few weeks compared to 3 years. OL minus the 5*s looked to actually be working together and focused. Have no idea what goes on in practice, but HB seemed to be in control. BM had some moments, and HH probably would look a lot better if he were allowed to run. There's a lot more work to be done with the play book, etc. before game time. I think we will have a QB this year for the first time in a long time. Excited about our WRs. Think the RBs will get the job done. Now defense... So many were held out we have no idea. The ones on the field did at least seem to know what they were doing so that is very encouraging. I think despite the bad reports we will have at least as good a defense as 6 teams we play. Not worrying about how many games we will win just how much progress we make. Cheering for this coach and the players who decide to stay and be Volunteers!
Appreciate your response. It will be interesting to me to see who wins the job.He definitely isn’t terrible. I heard swain’s thought on him and i didn’t necessarily agree. I just think Bailey is raw and was a bad fit for chaneys offense. Bailey is a touch and pace thrower. That’s not a bad thing, i would consider joe burrow that type.
Couple things that i don’t think most realize is QBs are classified in various sub categories just like running backs (power back, one cut back, 3rd down back, etc) or other positions. It goes well beyond “pro style or dual threat”. It’s never made sense to me why QB recruits are classified more by their legs vs how they throw the ball.
You got power throwers like Stafford, mahomes, Rodgers, Herbert etc that can literally drive balls anywhere on the field at anytime.
Then you have pace and touch guys like Brady, burrow, Manning, bridgewater, darnold etc that rely more on anticipation and layering throws vs driving them.
Then you have body throwers: Trevor Lawrence, brees, baker mayfield, Tua, etc that is a combo of both but they slow down their release a little by trying to gain more torque and throw with their whole body.
Then the live flick throwers are guys like Zach Wilson and kyler murray where their release is faster like a baseball infielder but they can get sloppy with their lower body and feet. (Bringing their back foot off the ground when they throw is usually a sign of this)
None of these have a more direct route to success it’s all a scheme and philosophy based on what a coach wants in his QB.
Is this serious? One of the few players that I thought really stood out yesterday was Warren Burrell, and not in a good way. Professional Wrestling is less fake than the spring football game that we just witnessed. The game was designed to create an illusion that we have an explosive offense. It was an illusion and it was working really well. There was no defense BY DESIGN. Then we had Warren Burrell who basically said “Eff this, I’m gettin’ mine”, steps in front of a Hooker pass and takes it the other way for six. It’s not like he can claim it was an accident. He had to go up in the air to get that ball. He was trying to wreck the show no matter what excuse he offers. I don’t know that we need guys like that on our roster. Such a selfish player. smh. jmo.
