Me too. Loudest game I ever attended. I think I screamed for 4 straight hours. Such a bummer. I went convinced that would be the moment Tennessee returned to relevance.

I think that game might have been a turning point and if you win that one Butch might still be coach with the way the rest of the season and 2016 might have gone.

Loudest game I went to was the comeback win against Georgia. I remember we were down like 25 - 0 at the half and basically no one left in the stadium and then we start to come back and man that stadium filled up real quick lol

Anyone else refer to a wedgie as a "grundy?" Or maybe a more nuanced distinction would be that a wedgie is something that is applied to someone else's underwear while a grundy is basically your own underwear riding up your crack involuntarily.

Random "cool story, bro," but we were at Kiawah this past week and on the way back onto the island from a short trip we stopped to get ice. How many times in our lives have we watched UT offenses that were absolutely steamrolling people "slow down" only to choke away big leads?

Yup. The "anti" crowd overlooks all the times a fast offense ends up icing a game by sticking with what got them there and winning by 2 or 3 TDs (notice how many times Heupel just ran away from opponents) vs slowed offenses ending up in a 1 score tossup at the end that could go either way. People only see the potential downsides while ignoring the massive upsides.

All said - yes there ARE times to downshift given basic clock math. But that is a very small portion of the time and Hype is beyond smart enough to know when those windows kick in. Otherwise, he's busy kicking in teeth.

To be fair, DW showed up literally a few months ago. Now the 3rd AD Vitello has seen in 4 years, not exactly a confidence builder. We are a bottom tier SEC program, with similar facilities.

I hope to god he can keep him, but hard to blame him either if he can't. It's just a huge task. UT baseball is like Georgia basketball or Vandy football. It just isn't historically relevant, hasn't historically invested in the program, and now the vultures are circling. It's asking a ton, especially if a job like LSU opens up.

For the three with CFB head coaching experience we’ve hired post-Fulmer, none of their respective fanbases were very sad to see them go. We watched Dooley and Butch crash and burn. Maybe third time’s the charm?

UCF fans were always going to turn on Heupel after Frost went undefeated...especially when he lost 10 players this year. I think their criticisms are stupid.

Yeah. UT has a way of throwing coming out parties for a ton of players. Don't believe me? Just re-watch the 2021 NFL draft and you'll see that half of the players drafted had a highlight reel full of plays against the Vols.
