And we?Boosters at schools like Bama, UF, UGA, LSU, Auburn and aTm are going to continue to do whatever they want. Things work a certain way there and have for a long time.
Funny, I literally just read an article the other day mentioning what they were in 2013. "Tier 1" schools were given 75k. Less than 1k/scholarship player. So do athletes make royalties off their likeness on the new NCAA game? How much is that worth?
Doesn’t the NIL actually serve UF at a considerable disadvantage? UF doesn’t dominate a regional/state wide market the way UT does since they have to compete with U of Miami and FSU (not to mention all of the people not originally from Florida). As a result, I would think local businesses would be less inclined to pay for one of their player’s likeness. Just a thought.
The NCAA needs to disband. It's a joke and it will just ppl are seeing it for what it is more and more. Or just have the power 5 conferences break away from the NCAA.Boosters at schools like Bama, UF, UGA, LSU, Auburn and aTm are going to continue to do whatever they want. Exactly! Our town is crazy about football and it’s players. I don’t see how this is not a huge advantage to UTAnd we don't have pro teams. I think that's the sweet spot, since our athletes are the biggest in town...the opposite of LA (USC/UCLA). Those kids won't even be top 10 athletes in their city, if top-25.
Based on population and the above, Austin and Columbus should be in the best of spots. Some have mentioned MLS teams...but meh. No football, baseball, basketball.
Knoxville is at the top of the SEC...another major sweet spot with the SEC advantage added on.
Then top players will sit out of the game and demand more money.. lolFunny, I literally just read an article the other day mentioning what they were in 2013. "Tier 1" schools were given 75k. Less than 1k/scholarship player.
Who knows what a new deal would look like and I've seen tweets suggesting the royalty rate is increasing, but that gives some context as to what they're willing to pay.
That's because of us, not who puts the jerseys on...and it is a state University not a ***** corporation. I pay to see the Vols because I am a Tennessean, not because of whichever dudes wear orange for a couple of yearsHow much money does our university make off our football team? That should be all the answer you need.
