One of our biggest problems is we haven’t hit on a a true program changing QB. That we could build off of.

We're better off than we have been at QB. We have talent and someone who can develop and coach them. Our best talent is actually going to see the field and be put in a position to succeed. I think this could be one of the bright spots.

I'm not sure what cameo is, but I'll buy one from Walter Nolen if he comes to UT. Same for Arch Manning.
It's like a "celebrity" happy birthday, get well soon, etc message. It's actually kind of cool for people hospitalized, have cancer, etc...like an in-person visit but obviously not quite.

I have been to plenty of bars. I have never once been to a bar and seen a guy knock another guy out. I guess I frequent nicer places than you.
Then you have never been to bar then and by the way Applebees is not considered a bar,its a restaurant.

Yup the biggest problem I'd always see are schools reporting bare minimums on their 1098-T, such as a total amount which didn't help us at all. We'd literally have to get the individuals to print out their registrar payment details to break it down...and yes they had zero idea any portion was taxab

Fin Aid offices should be more educational in this regard.

hmmm.....if a player fails to report as taxable income and is audited by the IRS and deemed to owe back taxes....is that a violation NCAA can nail the university for?

Last I saw they can't. No school brands, logos, etc are allowed in NiL deals, due to prior, exclusive deals.
This makes my point even more clear….you’re average person isn’t going to know who most of these players are and they have very little value apart from the school brand they represent IMO.

And all this time I thought a "Bar" was a place with stools, a long countertop, a bartender, and alcohol available for purchase. I guess I missed the part of the definition that required felony assault.

And no, Applebee's isn't a bar.

Wonder how long it’s gonna take before these guys realize nobody wants to pay them for promotion, autograph, tweets, etc….

These are not world renowned players
I’m glad they can make some money but there’s gotta be only x amount of people willing to pay them for stuff, right?
At smart schools boosters will start buying huge amounts of stuff like that from star recruits and players...it is a license to now legally cheat.

All a kid has to do is set up a merch site with some t-shirts and other junk..then boosters can anonymously buy hundreds or thousands of them, or pay them huge amounts for autographs, signed photos etc etc etc..

I would think they would be considered a contractor for the people they are being paid by and not the University.

I have a nice little scar over my eye from having a fractured orbital from being to drunk and trying to fight someone.

Guess what. I learned a lesson. So no I don’t think he should get sued. You make stupid decision and do stupid things you pay the consequences.

Also, no you wouldn’t be completely justified. You would definitely get manslaughter charges lol.
You might get charges if there is an overzealous stupid DA, but you would not get convicted by a jury.

Happy Bobby Bonilla Day!

Maybe not a great deal for Bonilla financially speaking, considering the future value - how much he could have from taking the 5.9mm and investing it over all these years. Giving up a few dozen millions.

But, like lottery winners that take the annuity payouts, probably just wanted long-term security which I get too. Plus, it's just a cool story...

Here's one: What if, lets say Nike come's up to the number one recruit in the country, who has been to all of their camps and Showcase's and makes a deal . In this deal it includes putting their image on Nike shirts, give's the parents some type of distribution and marketing deal and their handler/ coach/ advisor/ agent a cut as well BUT they must attend a University that has an exclusive contract with Nike. Would this fall inside the parameters of the NIL or is this kind of a gray area. What if instead of say Nike it's a multi million dollar donor ? The box is open and the rules are not really set so the RICH will get MUCH RICHER.......QUICKLY.

Just not ones where idiots fight. Bars and breweries...with kids...and dogs allowed. Never seen a fight and I'm absolutely surrounded by bars. Maybe touristy areas are better idk. Maybe college-aged singles bars or whatever bars y'all goin to have fights...daggum rednecks I'd expect nothin less.
SMH..
