SMU analogy! The death penalty happened in the 80’s after the SMU AD lied on live TV about violations and then read on same live TV the money trail. Made Dale Hansen’s career…he just retired. Previous decade and Watergate displayed that it’s never the actual crime that gets you…it’s the cover-up.

Again, the firings aren’t my complaint. But the detailed airing of dirty laundry was ridiculous and served no purpose. Of course it wasn’t a SMU situation. She made it sound awful though and made things worse. She could have done that with the NCAA. She didn’t manage timing nor communication like a grown up executive imo.

Hope all of VolNation has a great and safe 4th of July weekend! BTW, I know a few of ya'll probably did, but, a lot of people probably don't have a clue that, after Christmas, Independance Day was originally proclaimed as our second "Religious" Holiday. There's some really interesting reading from John Quincy Adams, Alexander Hamilton among others in the 1st proclamations making it a national holiday.
