JaCoby was 3 years younger than JJ. Murfreesboro always has talent. Master Teague was a year behind JaCoby. Knox and Otey played same team as Teague.

Tons of people moving here daily. Talent moving in too.

Jordan James, Horton, Herring Brothers (‘22-‘23) from next class all SEC talent players.

Also Gary Rankin started the recruiting to Riverdale in the 90s.

Eric Locke was from Cookeville
I was shocked how crazy the growth there is since 2000. Nuts.

Best keep that pipeline heading to The Hill. We're all counting on you and your pocketbook, volatil.

College football will always be college football, some have been getting paid for years. Nothing is really changing except they can now make money off their likeness. And more will make money. Still got to pass the grades to get the money. Still bands, still tailgates, still RAH Rah for VOLS always and forever. That isn't changing! I think if they just keep it to NIL things will be fine, the schools aren't even actually paying the money in that scenario. The kid is a adult at 18 by law, if he can make some money while in college he just may stay in college. I have heard MANY a college player say he is loving college and with money know being allowed to be made I think it will only further kids wanted to stay. Now not all, and there are always a few that need to go after their junior year. But for many players staying and getting their degree and continuing to get better at the game will be easier now knowing I am going to have at least some income coming in while pursing my degree and getting better at my craft!!!! College football is the most popular brand out there!!!! GBO!!!!!!!

When I worked at the hospital we had a guy come in with growth projections. Close to 150,000 now and by 2040 300,000. Close to 1,000,000 in the county in 2040.

Speaking of getting paid, I hope Trevor Lawrence has a pre-nup.
Started dating at 17...basically their 1st adult relationship...and they have never even lived together...about to be a traveling superstar athlete millionaire...what could possibly go wrong? 😅

Haven't they always been? Free developmental leagues for the professional organizations.

In football - yes. They tried NFL Europe to expand as well as be a developmental league, but it did not work out. Baseball is moving even more toward the colleges being the free developmental and basketball has for awhile even with their G league.

Which is why the NFL should be paying the NIL's in football. But that's another discussion altogether.

The deal with Vitello is the same as it's always been-- he wants reno clauses in his contract. He wanted that with his extension in 2019, and UT complied. Those renos were far simpler, though-- player amenities, minor updates, etc.-- and making them contractual didn't require much back and forth. But major renos are difficult to pin down. Many things have to be approved at multiple levels and expanding within the footprint has unique challenges that impact scheduling and budget. And all that has to go through legal and Vitello's reps. Getting from a verbal to a fully executed contract with so much TBD is a process.

Don’t really care about the NIL stuff. Just want UT to take FULL advantage of it. We have a award winning media department. Top social media accounts. Our fans are active on social media and give these kids lots of followers which boosts their “influencer” opportunities. Get these kids deals. Get em paid. Do it bigger and better. Get the players. It’s the new wave. The “New Age”. Capitalize! Win!

or #1 and #2 bolted and he was the last man standing... i hope he's a stud, but lets not act like if Wanya or JJ were still here, we would know who this guy even is
We’ll end up better off. He’s got an old guard, tough and mean mentality. Morris was living off his high school ranking…was kind of lazy.

Not true. Go back to his old player thread. I said he was a good pickup as a PWO and could grow into a good player.

Also, Wanya was slow and JJ could barely keep from getting a false start. Davis is a way better LT than both of those individuals.
Amen! Iowa puts this type into the NFL and now we have Midwestern types coaching.

Hopefully wrong, but someone here said the billionaire Dish guy didn't care that much about sports...just regular UT luck.

I mean...he puts us in his commercials...surely he cares ONE iota. 1% of his net worth is roughly $120 million. That could buy a decade worth of blue chips!!

Politics. Literally and figuratively.

What if we knew then that we would have sent Katron packing to JSU. Wait, is that what happened or did we lose him to JSU? Who knows what a weird thing. Glad we kept a handful of these cats anyway
That’s what makes me laugh…. We were so excited about him….. then he is in the portal….. teams weren’t exactly lining up trying to get him.

UT has plenty of money and boosters, but it doesn't have the unconditional big-billionaire support that some other schools do. And some of the wealthiest people in the state support Vanderbilt or other schools. UT has the Haslams, but they're funneling more money to academics and civic interests.

Which is why DW's attempts to get new money in is so important.
