I remember seeing Arkansas's backup QB last year...CJ Jefferson iirc, something like that. Guy ran just like Dobbs. He could be a lot of fun to watch this year.

I think by now, Heupel has a pretty good idea what a QB needs to do to execute his offense. I don't care if it's HB, Milton, Hooker, Maurer, or a walk-on that starts, just as long as they get results.

This seems to be nearing a consensus at this point, outside of fan circles. Of course, this Fall everyone will have ample opportunity. Iron will sharpen iron...we'll have somebody at least adequate. Then we need to give that guy the opportunity to stumble, make mistakes, and grow.

I don't really get that. If Heupel can turn around Drew Lock he can turn around Milton. He has the best arm and the most athleticism of any QB we have.

Meanwhile I think Harrison Bailey can be the guy, but I don't get the argument that he has to be the guy. Two good throws in the Spring game and a mediocre at absolute best freshman year aren't all that convincing to me.

Two good throws? He was 12 of 16 for 260 (75%). As for last year (his freshman year) he was 48 of 68 for 578 (70% ). The first thing to jump out when watching Harrison play is he knows to check down to the TE or RB. You may want to re-watch his games. He doesn't have to be the guy, but I would bet he will end up being the guy.

I don't look at the ability to check the ball down as some high level skill. JG is not and should never again be the standard to beat.

He played game manager while we were losing games by multiple scores. I'm sorry, I don't find that impressive. I'm not using that as some knock against him, I just don't think it is some forgone conclusion he's way better than the field.

Milton has the highest ceiling of the current group. If CJH can hit the reset button for him, I think he will be the guy. I think Milton's strengths are an ideal fit for this offense, and that is why he's here. To think he won't be given every chance to win that job is crazy to me.
