I’d listen to Swain moving forward. He may not be 100% accurate with all his info cause who is these days, but I hear Danny White likes Swain quite a bit. That can’t hurt to get you some insight from time to time.

Swain was talking about the Milton over HB thing last week. He says what he hears is the coaches have issues with HB not being an "alpha" with the team and that Milton has been as soon as he showed up. Will come down to who leads and produces.

Why does Swain do things like this?

Whoever gives us the best chance to win should start, at every position, not just QB. Period. Team comes before any individual player.

Exactly....which is why I am hoping the QB has not been chosen without competition based on how players respond to them. Sounds just like JG.

It has been so nice today checking in and seeing all the talk about football starting!!!.... But I need someone to explain how we went from the spring game to before a fall practice and suddenly HB is benched without a chance? What happened? Is Milton already the leader without a competition???

The people screaming for HB have already given up on every other QB on the roster, not the other way around. Whoever wins the job will be the guy Heupel thinks runs his offense the best. The opinions of VN mean jack **** to him. All VN should care about is if we win or lose.

Everyone has been touting Heupel's offense since he was hired, and how exciting it will be. So trust him to pick the QB that runs it the best. No coach comes in with the goal to fail. Heupel will swim or sink with his decisions, but he'll make the decisions he thinks give us the best chance to win, and I'm pretty damn sure he knows more than any of us do.

I disagree with the first part of your novel. lol I see it it totally opposite. Everyone likes the new shiny QB's and all HB has done when put into the game is to be very accurate despite Pruitt's love for JG. He has been the best QB we have put on the field. I do believe under Hype we will actually see the best QB on the field unlike the last staff.

The amount of excitement I would have that Milton is the starter is through the roof. That would mean that we have a 6-5 240lbs QB that is a legit threat on the ground that showed himself to be a better passer than either Bailey or Maurer.

LOL Really? How do you ignore the post of those touting Milton as the next starter. I remember when Bailey came he was first next star. Now people posting Milton as the new star. The guy just had his first full Spring practice since being here and also his first full Fall practice since being here. Should have started last year but Pruitt had an love affair with JG. lol I do agree with get out there and earn it. May the best QB hit the field. I do believe with Hype we will see the best QB from the Fall practices.

Yes, really. Apparently you're of the mind "HB hasn't been given a fair chance" when Heupel hasn't even named a starter yet. Sure, some have predicted Milton, but they've not declared it will be a disaster if he isn't the pick. Trippie was acting like it would be the end of Tennessee football if HB doesn't get the job. I don't care who the starter is as long as we win. No fan should. So predicting doom if it isn't HB is just dumb. Heupel will decide who is best to run this offense.

We just spent 3 years banging our heads against a brick wall every time #2 trotted back onto the field. I’m still pissed about it to be honest. Nightmares for years. It’s like Pruitt was doing it intentionally. I’m scarred.

What? Milton's highest QBR is 31 points lower than Bailey's. Milton's completion percentage is also 14 points lower than Bailey's. Bailey did have fewer opportunities than Milton did though.
