Are we in on any defensive players in 22? Between Zollicofer jokes and puns I havent kept up.

Listening to the Locked on Vols podcast, Eric Cain interviewed Chuck Oliver a college football host out of Atlanta. Oliver believes Tennessee has the worst defense in the SEC and also thinks Hooker would be the starter. He did believe VOLS should always be better than what they have been.

Worst in the SEC? Is he basing this off the portal losses? I guess that’s possible, but I also think it’s possible we’ll be much improved. We were terrible in space, terrible in pressuring the QB and also terrible in getting younger talented players playing time last year. Scheme will be simplified and will allow us to play faster. Hopefully there’s enough talent and depth to not bring up the rear defensively in the SEC...long year if so.

Yes. I think Nolen is probably the big name, the rest seem to be mostly 3 star guys who could be fringe 4 star guys with good senior seasons.
