Listening to the Locked on Vols podcast, Eric Cain interviewed Chuck Oliver a college football host out of Atlanta. Oliver believes Tennessee has the worst defense in the SEC and also thinks Hooker would be the starter. He did believe VOLS should always be better than what they have been.

There were 6 teams with a defense ranked worse than us last year. Why do we have the worst this year? Bc we lost Henry? We don’t have the worst defense in the SEC. I don’t know where these folks get these things

Wait - let's look at facts. 2020 was a covshit year. Kelly's team went 17-8, with an NCAA appearance, and was ranked nationally. She inked #5 class in Nation.

I see your point with Holly comparison. Bottom line is this, its unfair to compare every coach to Pat Summit. She was a once in a lifetime coach. I'm perfectly happy with getting better. I think in two years if we arent at least competing for SEC titles then its time to make a change, she is earning $800K.

Have to think with RG coaching, the D line will show out thus improving our total Defense.

i was going to say this as well. I really believe its because they see we lost Henry T and nothing more. They dont know any other players and sure as hell dont know any of the new guys. Speaking of possible bad defenses....Vandy, SC and Ole Miss are going to be here as well but according to these blow hards its Tennessee without question.

Quite frankly the team does not look as well coached and disciplined as her teams at Missouri State. Woke culture may be in play. Giver her 4 seasons to get her players in there and the culture built. But I agree, I see more Holly than anything.

That Daily Wire article can’t even keep its subjects straight. At one point Hubbard is the weight lifter and later in the article they’re the person articulating IOC policy. It’s hard to trust journalists/editors who can’t proofread. The late, great Truett Langston of the Macon County Times would have had my hide for that.

Neither Milton or Hooker were on the team last year, and none of these QBs has had significant time in what will be a new system. If HB wins the job, good for him. If Milton wins the job, good for him. If some walk-on who I've never heard of wins the job, good for him. Heupel will pick who starts. It's not a VN decision. We can all criticize afterwards. Who really cares who starts as long as we win??

If you go back and read what I said, I said the very same thing you just said. You made all this out of my post that said I am not counting out HB in reference to those proclaiming Milton the starter. And you will find in my other post. if you bother to read them, that I said if Milton wins the job good for him and will support him. So really this was all for nothing cause I never said HB must be or has to be the starter. I just said I am not giving up on him. lol
