Why would he make up something about Milton? Why the negativity about one of our QBs looking good? Seems like a real positive. We need someone to excel.
Because it is summer and you are not doing real drills and practicing. He would have no way of knowing that he goes through his reads quickly unless he was watching fall camp.

Constant issue for me too. Actually had a mild spasm yesterday that is still lingering. My body absolutely hates any hip extension movements now, and I toyed with some light Romanian deadlifts that ticked it off. I’ll need to step back from leg movements outside of extensions and leg curious for a week to get it to calm down.

Foam rolling can help. Massage Gun too. Stretching out your hip flexors with a kneeling lunge like stretch and a variety of hip stretches are what I’m going with now.

These guys always have good things to say. I’m interested to try the band on the hip

My former chiropractor (new school) helped me understand that the hips are big with back problems. Then the problems head down into the legs. She did the activator method on the hips and spine that got everything back into alignment while doing deep massage on the hammies. Boom. I went from the old man shuffle to doing my 10+ K steps per day in a couple of weeks after a half dozen treatments.

I constantly work on keeping the hips in alignment with good stretching techniques she taught. Added the inversion table that keeps it all where it needs to be and use it for a few minutes twice a day. Zero back issues for the past 4 years despite my age and even with lots of golf, home and garden projects, etc.

any tips for knee pain?

used to squat, dead lift, run etc. i think it may be tendonitis, as pain seems to dissipate after couple days rest ( which is two days without 10k steps).

Sounds like she probably got a promotion.

Yeah, I guess I'm a bit old school. Feels like we were a stepping stone only maybe the NFL did just recently come calling but also if that was the end game why make the previous move to here to begin with? Her name was already pretty well known in that circle before she took our gig.

Oh well, best of luck just stinks to hire/lose someone before the season even starts (at any position within the organization)

If Bama and Auburn move to the East, we will never see any type of championship again in football.

Imagine playing Bama, UGA, FL, Auburn, etc. every year, then potentially add one or two of OU,Texas, LSU, A&M on the schedule as our West opp.
This is where my thinking was yesterday. It may be good for "The SEC", but for Tennessee, it's just going to make it that much more difficult I think for us to get back to being competitive. It's already an incredibly tough task, but just how much more difficult can we make it....

The powers that be don’t care very much if we’re good. They care if the coffers are full. This keeps them full.

It's official. I am old. I miss the bowls and school spirit and hope that different teams would have great seasons. ESPN seemed to have ruined it all by just focusing on a few teams and declaring everyone else irrelevant. Then we needed a playoff to decide the NC. That has not only made most teams irrelevant but meaningless. So now we need super conferences which will just continue the cycle. Soon there will be 20 teams that get to play competitive games.

Yep - scrap it all and go back to the way it was pre-BCS. Georgia Tech, BYU, Colorado and so many others won titles back then. Those schools will never sniff another one in the modern. Very few can and will, in fact.

Yep - murderers row. The 2016 season should be seen as a warning to any Vol fans who think otherwise. That was the most talented team we've had in a long time. Tennessee got off to its best start in over a decade - 5-0 with wins over Florida and Georgia. But we were rewarded immediately with a trip to Texas A&M followed by a home game at Alabama. That crushed any momentum we had and changed the trajectory of that season and ultimately led to where we are today.

In a future state, we'd have all of that, plus Auburn.

In addition to the stretching and exercises, I've had to go with nutritional/supplements and periodic rest like you are doing for knee pain as I have aged. I still do a couple techniques for plantar fasciitis that also help the knees a bit like doing lifts up and down on stairs with the heels hanging out. Had a total ACL/meniscus reconstruction on one knee back in '97 by Dr. Mathien at KOC back when he was doing UT's surgeries. The stuff I did in therapy there still works - lifts, step ups/downs, clam shells with bands, and hip bridges help both knees and hips. Really good multi-collagen has helped more than anything from a supplement standpoint. I use Ancient Nutrition's version that is bovine, chicken bone broth, egg shell and fish. Put a scoop in the coffee each morning. No more tendonitis or osteo type pain combined with the stretches. Nutritionally I eliminated soft drinks and cut sugar a long time ago. Drink a lot of water, green tea, lemonade and a cup or two of coffee each day. Limited the gluten and increased the veggies and fruits. Lean meats with less beef. More Mediterranean style eating - I go about 80% that way. If I want to drop weight I go the reduced carbs/sugar route and don't over exercise like I did in the past. It caused more problems than it was worth. Have learned to be more patient. It's a journey, not a sprint.

JMO- folks need to find their own way that works best for them that they will stay committed to doing long term. It took me a long time to find what works for me the best and commit time each day to the effort. Right in the center of it all is the Lord.

How does that work - you do it regardless of your back being pulled/injured or do you just use it once your injured?

My case is that my back is perfectly fine outside of injuries. But I do pull it every so often. Do you think it would be beneficial for me or more for those with chronic back pain?

It works best for those that have disc problems. It stretches everything back out so things that are compressed our pinching get pulled back out. I used to have really bad lower back problems and since I have started using the table they have almost totally disappeared. If you start to feel a twinge you use it or just once a week or so for maintenance.

^^^ This.

I don't get why folks don't understand. It's not about what we prefer or want. That might have meant something 20 years ago, but not anymore. They were going to hire SchiaNO until everybody including the majority of politicians went ballistic over their tone deaf approach. They feared losing a big chunk of money if they went forward with it/ Otherwise he would have been on the long list of buy-outs of failed UT coaches by now.

They want the program to pay its own way with less donations going to needs operationally and more going to facilities and programs where they get their names on them. If we win in the process, great. If not, oh well. They will try to find somebody who is better to lead the programs. But win at all costs? Nah. Not in their vocabulary.

I remember reading Dobbs didn’t either.

Difference is what Dobbs was special at is hard to show at practice unless you go Live. Same with a Hooker in spring game what makes him truly dangerous is his legs and he couldn’t show that with QBs being two hand touch. A guy like Bailey who would s a pocket passer shouldn’t really be struggling in practice setting. I believe the struggle Bailey has had is with deep ball, slow release, heavy feet, and staff wanting to see him be more vocal leader. Interested to see if he uses spring game as the moment he needed to take the next step.

I don’t care who wins the job. I think each guy has a high ceiling and a low floor and it is up to the QB guru in Heupel to get at least one to hit their ceiling. I wouldn’t count out Maurer in the battle. He is a competitor.

EDIT: I forgot to add using the inversion table. It not only helps the hips and back stay in alignment, it helps the knee tendons stretch and reduces the compression as well. The meniscus gets a little breather.
