Fair, but amateurism in college football has been a myth (for the elite players, anyway) for a long time, and not a single one of the changes I mentioned happens without consideration for the money involved. We all want to believe that college football is about the passion for game and the traditions and the pageantry-- and it exists to some degree-- but CFB has been a slimy business for decades. Its all just a little more obvious now.
The “myth” of amateurism was the glue that held the whole thing together. We’re heading for just a shittier NFL now. Probably 2 large conferences or something. 16 team playoff within the next 15 years. Bye bye important regular season. Bye bye all the things that made CFB unique and different. There’s no turning back.

eh, think its gonna be okay.

I've been watching UCF a lot. We have way more speed and way more talent than them at the skill positions. Their best receivers and best running backs can't match our guys such as Hyatt for speed. And those talking about QB... Gabriel is not a good QB. I've been saying it. Look at the list below and notice he is nowhere to be found. He's not even on the list of someone they're watching for.

WalterFootball.com: 2022 NFL Draft: QB Rankings

He is not a good QB and I'm very confident that Heupel can get out of Bailey or Milton, two guys with way more talent and physical tools, what he got out of Gabriel and then some. This offense is going to take a huge leap which is why we are going to surprise this year.
Agreed. Take note of how many design QB runs there were for Gabriel. Basically none. Bailey can do everything Gabriel did and has more talent around him. Milton can do everything and more - just has to be accurate with the ball.

Did you guys know @Bassmaster_Vol has watched a lot of ucf games lately?

Just wanted to pass that along if any of you have missed his 40 or so posts in the past three days mentioning it.

😁
We're 12 days away from fall camp and I'm excited Hole, can't help it

He’s not better than a lot of the top QBs, but don’t take Walter Football as a measuring stick. They had a mock draft where Tyler Shough was the No. 1 pick and he is straight up garbage. Makes Gabriel look like Burrow

Couple of things---

Is it me, or does it seem like OU and Texas just decided they wanted to join the SEC and bullied their way in? I know it is all about money, but I am shocked the SEC thought this was a good idea long term for the conference... I would think the commissioner would have at least tested the waters with each SEC school to get their thoughts...

Okay, so if this is happening, did OU and Texas think about the fact that as far as I can tell, no one in the SEC wants them, and the fans will NOT welcome them... Think about how brutal games/tailgating will be for them to come to one of the existing schools, especially the first couple of years... I know people are joking, but I bet the entire SEC fanbase will be "horns down" the entire pre-game, game, and post-game the first season.

UT vs Texas... how is that going to work moving forward in terms of "UT"... ?? I don't care how bad we've been the past 10yrs, you come into OUR conference, you take a backseat, at least initially....

Then there's recruiting....

Let me make this simple for you, Texas and OU came calling, and all the SEC heard was:

Fair, but Gabriel isn't going to be drafted. He's just not that type of talent. We have two guys on this roster with far more physical tools is all I'm saying

College athletics as we knew it is dead. Welcome to the 4-team Super Conference!

Under the schools' Grant of Rights to the Big XII, if four schools withdraw, the whole thing comes tumbling down. With the writing on the wall for TX/OU, and KU with one foot out the door, this new SEC could be on us by the 2022 season.
