Y’all do realize we won’t be the only teams playing OU and UTjr every year right? UF, UGA, Bama, and LSU will have to eventually play them too. It’s not going to slow our ascent from the dweller. It could help expedite it. Poor coaching hires and an inept admin is what has kept us in the cellar, not our schedule.

In the FWIW column, just saw where Knoxville resident, Fairways and Greens golf pro Walt Chapman is T-11 and 5 shots out of the lead in Senior British Open. One of the good guys. Was an annual member at his River Islands Golf Course after they opened and before the ownership group sold it. IT's now called Island Pointe. Hope he continues to do well.

OU and Texas won’t pull the same success Missouri did either. SEC is a different animal than what it was 10 years ago.

Look where we are, and we haven’t won anything in 15 years!

Don’t tell me we can’t or won’t be good again

We can’t be good again.

At least not until Bama, Clemson, and UGA give up the stranglehold they have on our recruiting backyard.

And conspiracy theory or not, I refuse to believe the good ole boy network running things in Birmingham will ever allow it again.

So they keep us playing Bama every year, but Fl/Ga still avoid them and even lose their traditional rivalry with AU/LSU. Meaning Ga and Fl play one guaranteed tough game a year in each other, TN still gets screwed playing Bama every year and now AU also.

Somehow the first year of the pods will be like this:

Bama schedule: Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Kentucky, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Miss St, Arkansas, Missouri

Tennessee schedule: Alabama, Auburn, Vandy, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Texas AM, Oklahoma, Texas,

If we win, we’ll recruit fine. Pruitt and Butch both recruited top 10. But I agree with your second point

Tennessee IS the SEC. No chance in hell would we nor should we jump conference. OU & TX doesn't scare me at all. Let's get it!!

If this happens, I demand that our permanent West opponent is texas. Beat their asses every year and dominate the Battle of the UT! Remember the Alamo you effing cows!

Looks like we might as well create two football leagues. North and South. Divide the leagues into divisions. Have a playoff with division winners and wild card teams. Winner of each league plays the winner of the other league for all the marbles.

Oh... I think I just described the NFL.

Anyway, we're about to the point of needing a 4-team playoff for SEC championship.

By the way an interesting point I read about. Since the whole NIL thing is so new and kids have no idea what they're doing with their newly found money, how long before the IRS gets some guys in trouble?

schools have been prepping for change in NIL law for at least a year. most schools offer crash courses in contract law and tax management. consider how many tutors and advisors are already available to players, there will be people looking out for them.

All Betas that want to jump ship to the ACC. Just clip your nuts and go be a fan of someone else. We will be back to being a top tier SEC team in the near future.

If Texas played in the SEC these past 8-10 years they wouldn't have even been ranked a majority of the time and OK would rarely have made it to the playoffs. This will be a a shock to the system for both teams if they think they are gona come in here and win consistently right away.
We’ve been saying this for 14 years. Still in mediocrity and adding two good teams will make our clime even harder. Not a beta by any means, but I’m tired of losing and I want to win and win now.
