Well, wife and I are about to head to the hospital for her scheduled inducement. Later today/tonight or possibly early tomorrow morning, we will be meeting our first child, a girl. Can’t wait. Wish us luck!
Oh man. You're life is about to shift into another universe. An awesome universe. Enjoy every minute. Prayers for your wife and little one. Prayers for you too.

The knee-jerk has been spectacular in here. Some simply cannot grasp we have been through our low point as a program in all its history and are climbing out of it. The Vol program has never shirked from taking on the best - ever. You don't become a winner by running away. You stand and fight. Get knocked down? Get up and fight some more. Eventually you figure out what it takes to win or die trying. For our football program that means moving on from one HC to another who can get things done better. Meanwhile you use the money to build your fan favorite school's athletic house needs.

As for me, I am welcoming Boomer Sooner and Hook 'em Horns to the SEC. Two great schools with fantastic tradition that adds big time to the SEC. Looking forward to seeing our guys whup up on them. There won't be any true freshman centers playing their first game as a RT to pick on for a career day. No #2's to be a statue and pic throwing machine. I can't wait to see Rick Barnes' face as the Longhorns walk dejected off the court. When Voltello turns the table on the school that defeated our guys on the biggest stage in college baseball. How could you not look forward to that? Smh at the wussy thinking on here at times. Turn in your Vol card and go enjoy the ACC. Tennessee is the SEC. Period.

I’d be content with the new super conference realignment if recruiting switched to a draft.

In professional sports, the worst teams get the top picks, etc.

College football is the opposite. It heavily favors dynasties. That would continue and get much worse in this reconfiguration.

We're only climbing out of it if Heupel is the right guy. I damn sure hope he is.

Apparently some folks think that the Tennessee volunteers at the Alamo should have turned tail and run because they had a better chance of winning the battle some where else.
Maybe not a good analogy. According to some reports, Davy Crockett didn't die fighting. He surrendered and was then executed.

I'm seeing advantages to getting Bamma and Auburn in the east. Hell we play Bamma anyway.

They were surrounded... it was either surrender and probably be slaughtered or fight to the death. There was no running.

But other than that, a decent metaphor.

If you’re truly better, you’ll beat em. If you need protection from competition, it’ll show and you’ll lose. Clemson beat Bama because they were the better team. When Kelly Bryant was the quarterback, their rested and non-tested azzes got run. Better teams always win in college football…you’re thinking March Madness.

How could Clemson ever have gotten better than Bama while playing in the ACC?

Hmmmm….

So how many programs are seeing the writing on the wall and just handing out straight cash and negotiating NIL deals with recruits? Knowing the NCAA is treading water and lost their power?

I also suspect this is why Tennessee hasn't self-imposed anything. I don't think, at this point, ANY punishment is going to happen.

There is no advantage for adding more good teams to the SEC with the current 4 team playoff model not sure how our fans are not grasping this concept, it has nothing to do with being a “coward” or “pride” for wanting a logical easier road. If it changes to 12 teams in the playoff then I am all for adding Texas and Oklahoma.

We won’t self impose anything until the investigation is completed if that is what we decide to do.

is this a real question?

they took over for our solid nineties, 2000's recruiting. And never looked back.

I was following what I think was the logic posted earlier that you have to “play the best to be the best,” and that playing in the ACC is for losers, etc.

I personally still think playing 2 or so great teams in the regular season is all you need to get championship ready.

In the SEC, but greed is driving force. Chancellor Palpatine Sankey will kill NCAA exacting its, whatever power it had, for himself. Permanently instilling Bama as the de facto SECC every year.

Eff that, its balogna. Who wants to commit 4 hours a week to a game thats already decided ?

Finding out about a lot of people I'd hate to go to war with.

"It's too hard, let's just run away!"
Nope, they'd say "let's find a smarter way to win the war" and engage in guerilla tactics like the good ole The Patriot did and not just walk right towards the Brits in an open field, greatly outmatched, like fools.

More like they're saying "Why fight the British when we can take on those surrender monkeys known as the French?"
