Here's what is bothering me about the Biles thing. The reason we watch sports is to experience those moments when athletes overcome and do the impossible. We can have empathy for those who fail. We can have emotions from disappointment to disgust when someone quits. But does anyone actually know that the abuse is what caused her problem in this competition, or are we just automatically blaming that?

High on the amazingly beautiful world God gave us.

Or maybe it was this vortex thing they talk about out there. Supposedly there are places where you feel some sort of spiritual event when you’re there. Me, I just think it’s what you feel when you’re outdoors at a place that’s beautiful or special to you. Or maybe it’s just the breeze you get sometimes outside.
I was just playing on the theme of the day with the big "stone" in the background. I envy you guys. Enjoy!

I feel about like you and I personally don't think I would have made the decision she did but I've also never been a world class athlete under that amount of pressure. No issue with people questioning but putting her down bothers me.
Agree, questioning and being disappointed, sure. Should not be personally insulting. That is uncalled for.

How Simone Biles saved herself — and her teammates — at the Olympics

"Doubt. Fear. Insecurity. Pressure. Failure. The world's greatest gymnast felt it all on sports' biggest stage."

In case y'all wanted some more background info on the Biles situation. She came darn close to breaking her neck during her last event. If she had kept going they might have not medaled and she might have seriously injured herself.

Saw my first Simone Biles article that pissed me off. The author straight up said Biles was only catching heat because she's black, and then went on to speak of the struggles of "strong black women". Why does someone always feel the need to make it a race issue? How do they not see they are peddling hate and division? It angers me that a humanizing moment that should draw us together would be used to push us further apart.

Yeah that's a cop-out and poor journalism that's just going to further alienate people from trying to empathize and understand an extremely nuanced personal situation that played out on an international stage.

And it came just a few months after Naomi Osaka did nearly the same thing at Wimbledon because of personal issues she was dealing with.

Prayers for the kid, and, she is a kid. All of them are. If it were my daughter id be heartbroken.

A guy dies and is sent to hell. Satan meets him, shows him doors to three rooms, and says he must choose one to spend eternity in. In the first room, people are standing in poop up to their necks. The guy says, ‘No, let me see the next room.’ In the second room, people are standing in poop up to their noses. Guy says no again. Finally Satan opens the third room. People are standing with poop up to their knees, drinking coffee and eating pastries. The guy says, ‘I pick this room.’ Satan says Ok and starts to leave, and the guy wades in and starts pouring some coffee. On the way out Satan yells, ‘OK, coffee break’s over. Everyone back on your heads!’

He really only said what most were already thinking. Saban dropped that comment on purpose, anyway. He knew what he was doing.
Truly think CFB will be better off when he is retired. It will be more entertaining for sure. And this is from someone who just enjoys watching competition.

Ive turned on Olympics every night its been on, and turned right off. The announcers tel us who's going to win before event starts. Also, Americans just look like they took a year off while rest of World didnt.

The swimming events were first time i watched. Really enjoyed the closeness of each event. Was fun.
