It does matter. Both sides are trying different things in scrimmages. It’s not an “ability” if you don’t do it against legit competition. And he’s averaged 3.1 yards per attempt in 3 seasons against non-scrimmage setting opponents. It’d be like stating Jancek can crank out a 60 yard reception “at the drop of a hat”…since we’re doing analogies.
He’s changing systems. QBs leave Tennessee’s system all the time and flourish… Ferguson, Peterman. I’m no Milton apologist, I think he’s overrated by everyone here, but you can’t discredit what a system change does for a QB. Happens all the time,

That's why I kinda pull for good things for HB. He was a kid that committed as junior in high school, I believe, and has remained loyal through everything, still appearing to battle. He hasn't quit, transferred, or went social with anything negative or any kind of "me-ism" that I'm aware of. I'm not saying I think he needs to start or anything, but it's those kinds of kids I like to see be successful here.

This has been my reason for continuing to watch college football long after my interest in professional sports (including the Olympics) ended ; it's fun to see athletes participate for the love of the game and loyalty to their team. Sure, that's been a steadily diminishing part of it for a long time, but it was still there. I'm not certain, but it seems likely that these new developments will eventually eliminate the last vestiges of amateurism in college football. I think for my latter years I might like to find a small town in the middle of nowhere, throw away the tv and watch 8 year olds play baseball in a pasture.

Point being Harrison Bailey couldn’t even do that if he had a head start. (Not even in a scrimmage) I’ve already went on record saying HB will start and I’m not going to recant that. But Milton is making my prediction look more and more like it won’t come true.

I definitely think HB is better than Hooker.

Or it's racial pandering just like it says in the description. If they truly wanted statues for "racial equality" then all 4 wouldn't be AAs

In the South, racial equality has only ever meant equality between whites and blacks. That's changing with migration and immigration as well as awareness but you should know this. The South's internal war has almost always been black and white with other groups able to navigate past some of the hard stops like Jim Crow and voting if they were good enough story tellers (take East, TN and the melungeon population which had full rights despite being a tri-racial group). Tee's inclusion is arguable but the other three absolutely represented racial equality. Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky broke ranks with the Deep South schools of the SEC and intentionally broke the color line in the conference. Three of those players were huge parts of that and brought change. Tee - great dude but wtf? did he do?

Good point. Not sure what it has to do with mine. An athletic feat by a quarterback, such as a 70 yard run, isn’t dependent on an offensive system…it’s ability. So far in 3 seasons, his career long is 31 yards.

Sounds like a different point than I originally responded. There’s no doubt that Milton is leagues better as an athlete. Let’s just hold back on him farting lightning bolts out his arse until Bowling Green gets electrocuted by such. 😏

I think QB boils down to who can launch the ball down field the best. As much as I think Hooker moves and throws like Dobbs, Milton is the clear favorite here. He has a howitzer.
Think it comes down to them being able to trust that he understands and is in control of the offense. They obviously think he has the ability. But he wasn't here for spring practice. And although Hooker has also, he doesn't seem to give them confidence in his passing game or to be in control.

Lol seems like you were taking it as he can literally continuously break off 70 yard runs. When really I was saying he was a threat to break off runs like that if there is space.

The point was that with the potential of Milton to be able to run and throw and with the reports of him being accurate it’s hard to pass that up and go to Bailey who is only one dimensional.

“At the drop of a hat” must’ve thrown me off? 😏

Well said and while Milton wasn’t here during the Spring he apparently watches film and studies every night. Which probably has sped up his knowledge of the offense.
