That’s bc as a society we have become more sensitive and fragile….. a good official can control the game and crowd with ease even while missing a call or two(no one makes all the right calls)

Lack of officials isn’t going to be a problem just because we get yelled at. That’s a small part of it. The biggest issues are the time involved and minimal pay. I worked games Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week plus had an hour long official’s meeting Monday night. I drove over 200 miles to games this week and won’t get reimbursed mileage.

I do it because I love football and enjoy being a part of the game. Trust me officials know we are going to get yelled at. Every time we throw a flag 50% of the crowd is going to agree and the other half thinks you’re blind. Our main job is to ensure a fair game and stay out of the way.

Wonder why Pruitt's coaching LB in the NFL instead of being a DC at D1 school? I mean he was supposedly a defensive guru (laughing).

As far as butch goes, that street runs both ways. Do you think ADs don't know how Butch did that? There's a file out on Butch. He hurt himself.

Look he's in the NFL like most coaches who get investigated. Still making a handsome check doing a job he loves. As far as a defensive guru/genius I think coaching as DC for 3 NC teams in which the defense was a beast but in all those situations he had real players across the board because those schools allowed whatever it took to get the kids and win. So not sure why you're giggling. That's the element of UT football that's been missing for a while.

I think the Pitt game will be a good marker on the season and how talented the team is. Lose to Pitt, probably gonna be 5 wins, maybe 6. Beat Pitt and could see us hitting 7, maybe 8 if everything goes right.

Yeah man I hear that from a lot of refs. One of my guys has given up on the big 2 sports and gone to volleyball he said you work the tournaments and do multiple games and mk more doing less LOL.

His skills were on display at UT when he had average players. The guy's a complete fraud. He'll get a show cause (unless the NCAA is stripped of that ability).

Oh and I forgot to say I hate Botch Jones more than anyone, but ADS don't care about the bs just look around the country. Coaches with "said" toxicity get hired and rehired every year. He chose to be himself and milk the situation to rub it in UT fans and administration face. That's who he is and will be. Then he has a cushion job at Ark St that's the true level of his type of coaching.

Ok let's mk this clear, when most coaches win they cheat sloppy or clean. The thing I'm trying to get yawl fans to understand is nobody tells on themselves or claims cause to fire. They pay the coach to go away and let it go. Pruitt is a NFL coach now so if he chose to cm bk to the NCAA and tell more guess what he'd screw the university. See making a shyt show of a situation never benefits the school because the coach will always get another job. Now do you get what I'm saying. Like Butch made a mockery of UT and never truly sought another job just so they'd hv to pay him in full. Once it was done he seriously went after the ASU job that's his peak level of coaching and competition.

I don't care about stringing a sentence on a message board. My friend I hv 2 degrees. As far as morons. It's beyond me the things that are said on here about the entire process of building a program from coaching to recruiting. I've been around and involve for over 15 yrs so I've seen more corrupt shyt from UT to USC dealing with coaches, kids, boosters, and university admins

Lol SO many more people will be watching us on tv bc it’s a Thursday game, 2 days before week 1 officially kicks off, and CFB fans will be foaming at the mouth for games. Small

Better for the local economy to have full crowd Saturday games rather than partial crowd weeknight games. A bad team vs an abysmal team doesn’t move the needle much for television especially when there are multiple other games underway at the same time.

Agree. I’d put florida in a different category than bama/GA. But pretty stop on. Those swing game teams are jot good football teams. If we have a real coach he should pull several of those

At least part of it is the recent surge I'd bet. Even Bonnaroo went from completely sold out months ago to now having tickets available. Some tours are being canceled. Some people are rethinking Fall plans.

Point being - we don't really know how many might travel and come in a regular season. Not sure we should make too much of it. People have got to be excited about a fun and exciting offense again.

If the offense clicks and puts up points then it will be fun again and people will show up. Right now season ticket sales are the lowest they’ve been in a long time and for good reason. We’ve been terrible, the Delta variant, and fans are burned out on buying hope.
