Anybody have a guess of Mark Stoops' record vs Tennessee during his 8 year tenure at Kentucky that many believe has vaulted Kentucky past Tennessee in football prowess?

2-6

One of the worst teams in our program's history manhandled their best team ever, back in 2018.

I think it’s stupid that people are offended by “mascots and names” anyways

If you don’t like it don’t support them lol or pick a team that is their rival and hope they get destroyed on the playing field….

But this world has become way too sensitive. Lol.

Btw I wonder how many Irish people stated that the Leprechaun (Fighting Irish) was a bad logo. I bet it was close to 0 of those people being Irish.
People are hunting down offenses now. Equally frustrating is the over reaction of people treating everyone like crap with the IDGAF mentality due to the political correctness. It seems like there used to be a time when we could cut a joke and still not be an a-hole

Lane was a good hire. The rest were terrible hires by incompetent leadership.

I think we are finally serious about winning in sports with the DW hire. The ceiling from here on out is 8-9 wins? That’s ridiculous...
I am sorry, but Lane was a terrible hire. He led to Dooley and he underperformed as a coach in 2009. He lost at least two games he should have won. (Auburn and UCLA, I believe). Monte was atrocious as a DC and that vaunted recruiting class turned out to be terrible.

I'm surprised he doesn't have a lifetime contract with that record

And in both years, we fired our coach. That's how bad we were for him to beat us.

How do you come to this conclusion? Just because of an up tempo?

I mean what’s the difference in what Alabama was doing? They would score in like 3 plays and have their defense back out there….

Everyone saying our offense going to an up-tempo will hurt the defense is just BS. Want to know what hurts a defense? Not being able to get off the field and not being able to sustain drives. (Evidenced by last years abysmal performance)

If this offense can sustain drives and the defense can get off the field uptempo won’t be an issue.
Alabama runs a very slow tempo in terms of using the playclock… they’re just more explosive and efficient which leads to scoring quickly. We will definitely be way faster than they will be tempo wise, Saban has always been around 80th or worst in plays per game. But the key for our defense will be
Yards Per Play allowed… keep it at or under 5.0 and that’s a solid defense
Turnovers created per game…1.5 or better would be great
On paper the defense won’t be godly in terms of PPG or Yards per game allowed but you can’t look at those for this defense because obviously it’ll be scewed because of offensive tempo. Looking forward to a great season

It’s not that we will never beat those big three in fact I’d wager we do win some over that 5-7 year timeframe but it’s the other games we will lose that will prevent 10 win seasons. Let’s face it mizzu-Kentucky-ole miss are all programs we won’t beat much more than half the time

Doesn't really sound like a "ceiling" then if we're able to beat them then. I actually agree that we will not beat Bama or UGA. That will take a monumental upset or a huge change in program direction. That wouldn't really be possible for at least 5 years imo and that looks unlikely right now also. Putting a "ceiling" at 8-9 wins though is incorrect because there's only 2 programs that we'll schedule that we literally cannot beat.

He led us to a bowl game in year one...with a roster full of holes and question marks. I actually think it was the best coaching job UT has seen in the post-Fulmer era.

How does Tulane look this year?

Hired chip long from UT to be offensive coordinator, but his scheme is similar to the former OC that put up big numbers last few years so it should be a smooth transition. Above average young QB, good RBs and WR. defense will be the question, though we have 3 all conference LBs. should make a bowl for the fourth year in a row, which would be a school record, so it’s trending up. They’re fun to watch for sure.
