You say a lot of dumb things, but you're not that far off on this point.

We're very senior heavy on the DL for sure.

McNeill came outta HS as an OT, so he's being converted. Washington I'm not entirely sure is still on the team, he was involved with all that mess that lead to Salter leaving I think.

I feel like we'll be solid on DL though, but next season could be a very bad one for that group. We have a great positional coach both in recruiting/development there though.

OL I'm not as worried about, mainly because we won't lost quite as many after this season as on the DL

Calbert hasn't really been a consistent contributor too so not sure how much we're losing there. If Wright decides to leave early though we could be in a very tough spot. Just depends on how well Elarbee can develop the young guys we got and recruit new ones. We're going to see some regression here for sure though.
McNeil played OL and DL in high school…

Doesn't really sound like a "ceiling" then if we're able to beat them then. I actually agree that we will not beat Bama or UGA. That will take a monumental upset or a huge change in program direction. That wouldn't really be possible for at least 5 years imo and that looks unlikely right now also. Putting a "ceiling" at 8-9 wins though is incorrect because there's only 2 programs that we'll schedule that we literally cannot beat.

I’m saying IF we were to beat one of the big 3 we aren’t good enough to beat all the rest of the others. The others are just stronger than they were 20 years ago and we obviously are weaker

Alabama runs a very slow tempo in terms of using the playclock… they’re just more explosive and efficient which leads to scoring quickly. We will definitely be way faster than they will be tempo wise, Saban has always been around 80th or worst in plays per game. But the key for our defense will be
Yards Per Play allowed… keep it at or under 5.0 and that’s a solid defense
Turnovers created per game…1.5 or better would be great
On paper the defense won’t be godly in terms of PPG or Yards per game allowed but you can’t look at those for this defense because obviously it’ll be scewed because of offensive tempo. Looking forward to a great season

That’s a good post
TOs are the key for this defense

Long post, but I'm on a two week notice before starting a new job so I've got too much time.

After a little deep dive into Heupel's offensive jump at Missouri from the year before he got there to when he got there, I have some predictions based on the data.

Prediction 1:
UT will average 500 yards of offense per game.

Missouri jumped from 280 yards per game in 2015 to 500 yards in 2016 under Heupel. Tennessee averaged 346 yard per game last year. This is not a far fetched jump.

Prediction 2:
UT will average 200 yards rushing per game for the first time since 2016.

Heupel offenses have averaged 200 yard per game in 4 of his last 5 seasons.

Prediction 3:
Joe Milton will be the first UT QB to throw for 3000 yards since Tyler Bray in 2012 while also being the first UT QB with 4 or more 400 yard passing games in a season.

Heupel offenses have had a QB pass for 3000 yards in 4 of the last 5 seasons(the only season without was when Milton got hurt). Tennessee has only had 4 3,000 yard seasons by a QB in history.

These are long shot predictions, but I think could happen/want to see happen:

1. Tyler Bray's single game 530 yard passing record falls.
2. Peyton Manning's single season total yards record of 3,789 yards falls this year to Joe Milton.

3. Joe Milton has 3 games with 6 total TDs.
4. Evans rushes for 1,000 yards.

Here's some fun stats - if Joe Milton can have just the average season of Heupel QBs since 2016. Here's his projected stat line.

226 Completions
390 Attempts
58% Completion Percentage
3,450 Yards
31 TDs
8 Interceptions

Team wise if we were the average of Heupel's offenses since 2016:
Our average offensive output would be:
3685 Passing Yards and 32 TDs
2642 Rushing Yards and 27 TDs
Scoring 40ish Points Per Game.

Sweet Christmas. If we have this type of offensive output year 1 this is at minimum an 8-4 team and probably better than that.

Boom. Let us go. Believe the Heup! 15-0

Oh well, I guess their was more "Crackers" around playing baseball back then than we realized!

Supercuts is just a troll at this point.

He's not "supporting" NPA kids by bumping their threads on a Tennessee recruiting fan site. That has zero impact on anything related to them or their recruitment. He only does it to be a troll and throw it in our face.

Congrats on the wade kid for going 3-5 passing the other night though. :)
"Supercuts" is the best burn I've seen on this site in a long time. That's gold!!

I have put off going to an ENT for years because I am stubborn. However, I woke up to my wife standing over me with a pillow about to smother me because I was snoring so loudly that she couldn't sleep. I have an ENT appt next Tuesday.
What is ENT? Sounds like possibly sleep apnea if snoring so loud it wakes your neighbors.

UT should have Kiffined Dooley in the parking lot after losing to UK and kicked that door closed right there. He was ready to GTHO and everybody knew he wasn't the guy. Now UK, SCAR, Mizzou and Vandy think we're on their tier, and UGA and UF think we're far beneath them. With UT's resources, finishing third in the East should be a disappointment and losing to Bottom 4 SECE programs should be unacceptable.

That won't hold this year, though. This staff is going to be given a lot of latitude and time to rebuild the way UT wants.

I hope that doesn’t mean five years even if we aren’t making bowls. I don’t believe that is going to happen and like JH. But I’m tired of lowered expectations for this program. It’s what has kept bad coaches here too long.

He led us to a bowl game in year one...with a roster full of holes and question marks. I actually think it was the best coaching job UT has seen in the post-Fulmer era.
Agree. That was statistically our 2nd best team outside of 2015, since Fulmer. We had a 7.1 ppg margin and only allowed 22 ppg. We ransacked UGA. Gave UF a heck of a game. Lost to Bama on a blocked FG and held them to TWELVE points.

No idea wth that Ole Miss game was, but overall a pretty good season for only going 7-6.

It’s amazing how average our players are until they go to another school. Gray is a super star at OK. Sirius XM is raving over Chandler and think he will be a star at UNC. Middleton will be good at WV and is a huge loss. But everyone who stayed is average or bad. Media needs to figure out if we have talent or not. They don’t seem to know unless they leave and then they are super stars. Lol

This is the Butch Jones model, right? Best values in the draft because players weren't developed or utilized properly. Hopefully we'll see that change with a competent head coach.

All 3 of those were very good for us

I mean, I just got a 77" OLED and my living room set is real comfy. I'm okay with watching the game at the house.

Still seeking recommendations on a good surround sound if anyone has any though.
Lots of great options out there. I like Paradigm personally. The top end options of most brands will be satisfactory. Go somewhere locally and listen though. Only way to know what fits your ear.
