Franklin is a bigger hire but none of us can stand him….. we would overlook it if he was Nick Saban but he is no where close to that level of a coach.

I just think anyone would have considered it to be a home run hire. I can't stand plenty of coaches but I'd sure love to have them. A lot of people, myself included, wanted Hugh Freeze. He seems like a bigger dirtbag than most others and the things he did/does can be proven.

One, I was never in on Hugh Freeze. Two, frequenting prostitutes is not even close to as bad as covering up rape. Sorry, it's just not. It's a victimless crime unless the woman is being forced into prostitution, which no signs of that ever arose.

Haven’t watched yet but how much does the movie cover? Aren’t there like 6 books? Hopefully they do it right and make a trilogy or something out of this

Movie covers the first half of the first book. There are a boat load of books, but it's not like LotR where the one story spans multiple books. Each book is pretty self contained, so I think there will be 2 movies for the first book.

On the hiring of Heupel, think it's a case of getting who we needed and probably not the one we wanted.
I remember not being excited about the hire but now I'm concerned about keeping the entire staff intact. It's obvious to this untrained eye if we can get some good recruits in here we have the coaches to teach them.

Maybe just maybe our national nightmare may be nearing an end..

He is. We take shots at rival coaches because it's what we do, but James Franklin is a horrible person. We pick at Nick Saban or Dan Mullen or Kirby Smart because of who they coach. That's why we don't like them. But James Franklin, I truly cannot stand him. He covered up rape when he was at Vanderbilt, and hazing at Penn State. He's not a good person, and it matters, at least to me.

Don't get me wrong, no one was turning down Saban when he still had years to go.
But my dislike is real.

Condescending azz. Still wish Marcus Spears would've popped him in his little elf mouth, would've made my all time highlight reel.

Not sure which one of you this is, but I’d like to buy you a beer sometime.

Not literally me but exact reactions were the exact same in my living room, first 3 quarters were some of the most fun I've had watching UT in the last few years.

I finally feel like we have the coaches in place to make it happen, just have to build depth on Defense, RB, and OL and we'll have a TEAM.

I just wanna say that I have so much respect for this team and staff and the way they fight having brought a knife to a machine-gun fight. Color me impressed. Long way to go yet but I don’t think I can question the direction.

Did Hooker not redshirt his freshman season? He only participated in 3 games. Wouldn't that give him 2 more years after this season including his covid yr?
