Don’t make me pick 🤔

The Dresden Files is about a wizard who lives in Chicago and works as a private investigator. It’s often really funny. Voice actor played Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slyer tv series. Great!

The Iron Druid is about the last ancient Druid, but he looks like he is mid 20s. He can communicate with animals and his Irish Wolfhound is hilarious. Voice actor is Like Daniels. Also great!

I started reading both, but my son and I would listen to audiobooks on the way to his baseball practices/games or Scout campouts.
I got hooked on both series through the audiobooks and never went back to the written version. Can’t go wrong reading but the voice actors are just so awesome that I enjoy that more. Plus I don’t have the time for pleasure reading, but great use of drive time.

Yeah, I’ve actually sought out other Luke Daniels narration just because he’s so good.

I'm a big audio book fan too. What genre do you lean toward?

I hate audio books. Every character ends up having the narrator's voice in my head and I end up not being able to visualize anything/anyone and I don't get connected to the story. It's like I'm listening to a podcast of someone reading a book.

Lots of people love them though. To each their own.

Might have to start with Iron Druid as Dresden Files seems to have ton of books to get through.

The voice acting can really make or break a book. Harry Potter done by Jim Dale is one of the most enjoyable listens I’ve ever had. That man does absolutely amazing. I also enjoy the books, I’m sure it’s not for everyone, especially anyone over 35.

So I would put the voice actors for both The Dresden Files and The Iron Druid in the same league as Jim Dale.

Totally different genre, but with comedy infused is the Zombie Fallout series. Also great voice actor.

Back in the early 90’s I met Jose Alverez a RP for Atlanta at a Church in Atlanta where my dad was speaking. We became good friends and invited me to come spend the weekend with him the ST Louis Cards we’re in town. One of the greatest weekends of my life. He took me into the clubhouse on that Sunday where I sat in the weight room talking to this young man who was about to go pitch. It’s was John Smoltz. I have a baseball signed by him and the team at that time. I went to the Chapel that had before the game and sat in the room with most of the team. I post this cause me and Jose still stay in touch and he took me and the wife to a playoff game the Summer before Covid hit. He just posted this on FB. Thought it was cool. Jose is in the bucket hat with John Smoltz on the right.
That is an awesome story. Thanks for sharing it.

The Black Company needs to be made ASAP. It was greenlit then news disappeared.

Yes! I only discovered that series a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. I loved how surprising it was. It took turns that I never expected and was absolutely brutal. Not sure if I preferred the books that took place in the north or the south.

I'm going to start it over again today since I'm not reading anything right now. Thanks for bringing it up. I think the final book will be coming out soon. John Gwynne is very good if you like very detailed battle scenes. His The Faithful And The Fallen Series is great and the sequel is good too. Lots of brutal battles from an author who is a Norse battle reenactor and has a battle historian who consults for him.

@ACvol3. Anderson Co v Seymour in the 1st round. Seymour is average or just below average. I'm not sure about AC. It seems like they played a tougher weekly schedule than Seymour, but Seymour played a couple great schools along the way.

So my wife was given backstage vip concert tickets to Lynard Skynard this coming Saturday and we are a bit of disagreement on going.
Concert is at 7, game is at 7, and I could give two Brandon’s about seeing Lynard Skynard!!!😬
But is it really Skynyrd, or did the real Skynyrd end with the plane crash in 1977? Maybe it's just backstage passes to a cover band that assumed the name?

And never listen to a Dawg fan's "logic".

Looking like Notre Dame may luck back into the CFP.

Ranked 11th with their only loss being to #2 Cincinnati with no real challenges left unless Virginia can give them a game.

Michigan State still has Ohio State & Penn State left + whoever they get in conference championship
Oklahoma has Baylor, Iowa State & OK State left so that's going to be a tough end but they finally look like their offense is back to being able to score points
Cincinnati shouldn't have any trouble staying undefeated unless SMU manages to upset them or Houston gets them in the conference championship game
Georgia has us and then Alabama (most likely) in Atlanta so even if they drop one (to us hopefully) I think they'll still be able to get in

Could be an interesting CFP this year if some of these P5 favorites drop games. I would like to see Cincinnati and Michigan State get in just so we have some new blood. Would also be perfectly satisfied if no SEC team made the cut this year. We upset Georgia and Auburn beats Bama (then Georgia loses in SEC championship). CHAOS!!!
